lol. so you would've kept Watts? Hilarious.
Incorrect assumptions are your specialty. I was very happy to trade him especially for the pick. I wouldn't have delisted him thats just moronic 😂

So you would have delisted him and never drafted Fritsch as a result? :$
I would've tried to trade him first. But if no offers, I would've delisted him. We wouldn't have got Fritsch because I would've traded him 6 years earlier. So who knows who we would've got.

He just kept getting saved because we kept having new coaches who wanted to try and get the best out of him.

Would you have delisted Neville Jetta? Tom McDonald? Spare us the nonsense you Jason Taylor faux impersonator. Nobody was delisting Watts, you'd keep him on low wedge if nobody else wanted him but there was not a point where he wasn't worth a spot on the list, if not in the 22.

Didn't Neeld try to trade Watts in 2012 when he was culling the list and got vetoed by the club?

Watts was playing great footy in 2016 and 2017, I was pissed we traded him at the time because it appeared he had finally found his spot, being used as a front half utility somewhat, in the ruck when needed, on the wing, high half forward, regular forward. Would love to have someone like him on our list now like that who could use the ball as well as Jack going inside 50.

To say he was cuttable is absolute nonsense. :tearsofjoy: If you wanted to make a case for cutting him it would have been in the Neeld years.

And he only got booted from the club because of his off field activities, had nothing at all to do with his poor performance on field, he was playing the best footy of his career at the time we traded him. Danny boy completely re-writing history with his child like imagination.

I think we all need to consider what would have happened if Fritsch was selected before 31, how stupid would we have looked hey, why is no one talking about this?

Pick 31 for Watts was unders at the time

It was overs.

I am normally a big defender of Watts, but he is a lazy shit that couldn't lock down a position in a team that only won 4 games a year. He had the talent and attributes to have been a much better player but ultimately footy was never his priority, it was just a job for him.

Was a player that perhaps could have had a better career if he wasn't at the basket case of a club a bit like Sylvia as well clearly our most talented player probably would had been a gun If he wasn't in a cellar dwelling side.

Leg speed and good kicks in the back half, and talent in the forward half.

That’s what we should be targeting at the trade table.

That said, if we get some first round picks for Jackson I’d be equally as happy if we take them to the draft - and we might have to if we bring Grundy in as we presumably won’t have a heap of cap space.

I think him being pigeon holed as a KPF for the first half of his career didnt help, never showed he was that at AFL level. Took until Roos to unlock the best of him.

I agree but he looked pretty good playing in defence which is probably the only good thing neeld did during his tenure. (Besides moving garland forward in that essendon game)

That was the biggest waste of 10 years.

Yea youre right, if we selected NicNat instead of Watts we probably would have won 5 premierships at least. Us selecting Watts held us down for a decade.
