I'd happily trade Weid for nothing. Realistically someone like Jackson Callow, who had 18 months on the Hawks list and was played totally out of position as a ruckman in most of his AFL games, is a better prospect than Weid.

In other words you can replace Weid for someone on minimum pay who is more of a chance of becoming a key forward for us.

Weid's only value to us is as mature body who can play back up ruck if Gawn/Grundy goes down and knows our system.

Had a decent game in the VFL granny against a previously listed AFL ruckman in Crossley.

Happy to flick him and pick up the best of the state league, though. Save us some cash.

Weid will see out next season with Casey and then probably be de-listed . No one wanted him when he was out of contract , he has done nothing this year to make himself wanted either . Nice bit of speculating from Mathew Lloyd though . Thats me speculating too BTW.

Gunston going to Brisbane. ******* hell, I'm filthy we didn't have a crack.

We probably did and he told us to G&GF, im not leading into a pocket to try and take contested marks.

Bedford got quite a few chances tbf. Chandler less lucky
chances... games for experience. He is is learning and growing.
Not every player begins as a regular AFL senior player.

Chandler doesn't have the same zip and speed thru midfield traffic. An area we are shy on.

Bedford with his endurance, and turn of speed could play wing, surely.

Yep. Lions adding Dunkley, Gunston and the clear #1 pick in Ashcroft. They have improved their list. Wtf are we doing? We still on the Grundy train?

Thank **** someone else agrees with me

Brisbane: Ashcroft, Dunkley, Gunston
Collingwood: Hayes, Mcstay, Mitchell, Fiorini, Hill, Frampton
Geelong: Henry, Bruhn, Bowes, Pick 7
Richmond: Taranto, Hopper
Fremantle: Jackson, Sharp, Corbett

Meanwhile

Demons: Jackson replacement (Grundy) and **** all else

All our direct competitors going aggressively to improve list while Dees doing the exact same thing as Goodwin does with his game plan - nothing.

Lever signed with us for 5 years and got his contract extended in 2020, it isn't a new deal, just a longer one.
Lever played poorly, imo, when under pressure this second half of the season.
I sincerely hope he isn't on big coin for long term. As I can see him falling off the elite AFL perch.

The game changed this season Re defenders, allowing them less space, and so Lever, who is poor when the balls on the ground around his ankles, just crapps it.

I am hoping Turner comes on next year; he is handy with the ball on ground or the high ball.

More wrist-slashing.

  • Brisbane picking up Ashcroft is purely luck, not strong list management. The other two, granted, are good acquisitions.
  • That list of Collingwood 'ins' is the most vanilla group of plodders you could possibly assemble, plus they're pushing out Grundy to do so. Could lose De Goey too.
  • Bowes/Pick 7 hasn't happened for Geelong. Henry couldn't get a game for Collingwood, Bruhn's hardly done a thing for GWS. Selwood is gone now too.
  • Richmond's acquisitions are solid, yet to be convinced it'll make them a contender though. Plus they're handing a combined 14 years in contracts to two players who have never come close to an AA team, while losing draft capital.
  • Sharp and Corbett are a whole lot of 'meh' (at best) and Jackson isn't a net win for next year while they lose Lobb, Logue, Acres, Tucker, Mundy (retired) and Meek.

It's incredible how overrated players become when they're changing teams. Every year, Carlton or Essendon 'win' trade period. It's done a lot of them, hasn't it?

They were tall to start with, Gunston is great and I would love him but just don’t get the fit at Brisbane?

Going for the skinniest forward line of all time perhaps?

Just heard that Gold Coast are into Long and Berry. Can’t believe we don’t have an adjective and noun based trade strategy. This is shaping up to be our worst trade period ever.
Right?! We should get Jayden Short, Nathan Broad, Jack Crisp and Bailey Dale on our radar, stat.
