Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Dunno why we'd chase high priced rucks like Grundy or Darcy. Gawn has at least a couple of years left and I'm sure Meek will be a steak knives for the Jackson deal.
If not, we can target cheaper options. We've been blessed with Max but the reality is, flags can be won without star ruckmen. We need a genuine KPF (or a hybrid KPF/ruck) and mids/flankers with kicking skills (the Wingard suggestion is intriguing in that regard. If his body is ok and we can get him cheap enough, he could be fantastic).
For ruck depth, we should also look to draft the best state league ruck to play at Casey and use in case of emergency.

Gawn is an amazing spin doctor."Luke's a talent and he's got every right, as every player does, to look at any offer that's coming his way," Gawn told reporters on Monday.
"I'm pretty confident he's going to be a Melbourne player still and I know that's very far from what the consensus is out in the media.
"He was the happiest person I've ever seen (last Friday night) beating Fremantle, who is the team that he's supposed to be going to.
"He seemed the happiest person out there."

Gawn bullish on 'happiest person' Jackson staying a Dee
It's far from the general consensus, but Melbourne captain Max Gawn is confident young out-of-contract ruck Luke Jackson will remain a Demonwww.afl.com.au
Gawny would be a much better judge than any of us, but I'd be amazed if he is in Dees colours next season.Gawn is an amazing spin doctor.

Gawny is the gift that keeps on giving. Wasn't sure on his appointment as skipper, but it was a perfect and inspired choice. My favourite bit “I actually don’t think he knows he’s out of contract”
Jackson would look like the happiest bloke in the world if he found 20c on the footpath.Max's happiest ever person rankings:
Jacko winning a home and away game against Freo where he hobbles off injured and played s**t >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jacko winning a flag where he personally changed the game

We should be all over Young. Was either him or Jackson at the draft for mine, and it's frustrating that Freo will end up with both. Young would solve a few problems. Contracted yes, but get in his ear. Would nearly be happy for a straight swap tbh.Take the picks, forget their talls.
This.
Why not Goldy, whilst we draft a kid Ruck.
The draft for a KPF...
And I'd ask either or, of cSerong and hYoung about coming home Re the Jacko trade.

Brissy have another academy talent so they'll look to move on their first for some points. So that could be do ableWith the players the Dockers are planning to ship out, the likely scenario is they end up with a big bunch of second and third round picks and then we make them go and find another club to convert those into a couple of first rounders.
Really can't see any Dockers players that are of any value to us as major components in the deal (other than those who are ungettable).
Yep, But I saw last night he is contracted till he's a RFA, 2027. Thats a huge commitment from him to the Dockers. We should be all over Young. This is rare air though. If we get into his managers ear, there is no reason a swap still can't be made. Obviously still highly unlikely but you just never know. Serong, Darcy and Young I'd be targeting. Darcy moreso for his age. He's still young and is already one of the best rucks in the comp. Late first rounders are so speculative, which that's what it looks like we'll get. Yeah we might hit with one, but they will be a few years from having big impact, while Dogga is already impacting and 3 years developed. So my preference would be to get in the ear of one of their young guns who can impact now for us. Unlikely yes, but worth a shot.Yep, But I saw last night he is contracted till he's a RFA, 2027. Agree, I think we need another string, in our inside midfield.Serong, Darcy and Young I'd be targeting.
Exactly. Ed Langdon came out of the blue a few years back. WA is a long way from Vic and no doubt the travel every 2nd week has to be a b*! Joining a contender and getting home is surely a juicy proposition to one of those kids!I wouldn't stop at those three. Chapman, Walker, and Amiss are a few that would all add something to our side straight away while a guy like Logue would make sense with the need to replace May in a few years. Ask the question about any or all of them and see if anything shakes loose. Chances are none of them will, but if we don't ask we won't know.
Player I'd be going after is Zak Butters.PLAYERCARDSTART9Zak Butters

Kid is a jet, beautiful user of the footy, tough as nails, Victorian boy too. Would do so much damage on a half forward flank for us with Trac/Clarry/Vines feeding him the footy.
He re-signed at the start of the year, but with Port going down the toilet and Hinkley probably sacked, he might be open to a trade. We loved him in his draft year too.
Forget Karl Amon, I'd rather pay more and try and get ButtersPLAYERCARDSTART10Karl Amon
