Nathan Jones called him it when he arrived at the club. Was something to do with his hair IIRC
Jones and Melksham thought his hair flopped around like the ears of a King Charles Cavalier when he ran.

Genuinely no idea how Bedford is a name teams are clamouring for.
Essendon who are apparently the ones after Bedford have no quality crumbing/pressure forwards. They tried to get Bobby Hill last year.

Currently they've got Brayden Ham, Matt Guelfi, Will Snelling and Nic Martin running around as their smalls in the forward line - an asbolute dog's breakfast.

I think Bedford is tracking pretty well this year, coming from a long way back. Has had some good impact coming on as sub and his finishing has gotten a lot better. He's a great runner too.

I'd say Chandler would get games at a lot of teams this year too. Not many great young small forwards playing 2s out there - it's a tough position to play.

Bedford still gets lost in games, runs around not knowing what hes doing a lot of the time. Will be 23 by the time the season starts next year. I just dont see the upside for a bloke who has been on our list as long as he has.

Some Sam Blease vibes with him, just in a better side.

Yeah Bedford is a funny one. Tough position to play, and whilst he's improved a lot over past couple of years, he's still not a 22 lock, but only just turned 22. If they're looking to extend him for 2 or 3 years, I'd imagine that doesn't bode well for chandler.

Would have pickett, spargo, Bedford, chandler and moniz-Wakefield in that small forward position.

No doubt we will take Jackson’s compo and our 2023 1st and go shopping. I’d love someone like Thilthorpe…
Yep, I postured a few weeks back if the dockers will try getting the first from the dogs and send them a few picks back their way, then on trade that pick and their first to us for Jackson.

Would shake something good free with 10 and 15, or 10 and next years first etc.

Obviously we would all love a king, but doubt either are available. Larkey would definitely be worth a question. But who knows, just hope something good comes back.

Won’t happen but JDG for free and a KPF fixes so many problems.

Jdg will be at the cats next year.

I wonder if there are any younger players around the league who may be keen on getting out, or been injured or something. Someone like duursma from Port who can play half forward, we were into him draft time. Tanner bruhn who hasn't set the world on fire yet but will be out of gws, same as Connor stone another first rounder. Even try throwing a bit at someone like Jade Gresham see if St kilda want to get back in the draft, as unlikely as that would be.

Too bad Luke Jackson is leaving us, he's exactly what we would need 🥲

Naturally; he has only played 18 games, without stringing them together. What do you expect.

Think back to Petty, when he started off. Think back to Tracca, he got games when he didn't really deserve them. But we were a bit light-on for talent.

Many players were given games, when they're standard wasn't being a star.

Now Bedford, and also Weide, are beiung seen against a backdrop of stars in red and blue.

Bedford has been on the list for 4 years mate, its hardly the same, when youve been around that long and youre still apparently learning it shows hes either a) a very slow learner or b) isn't that good

Now, Brayshaw signing on for his career... Could this be a sign from the heavens.???

Could this mean that Dogga is going West???

And could this mean that young Brayshaw is coming East.? Just me speculating, but I do wonder?

Yeah, he's been a rookie. Rookies are taken as a long shot because they are seen to need a lot of development. Compared to the Rnd 1 draftees, who are considered talented way-ahead of the pack.

He is now showing his wares; but has to come thru the pack of Spargo, Pickett, Neale-Bullen and Melksham.
He is doing that without getting strings of games.

His footy is ready imo, but his game focus and other mental areas probabaly need further development. To stay in games longer.

PS: I think you need to invest in a bigger hour-glass.

He isn't a ruck or kpf, small forward's dont need that long to develop, especially when it comes to game sense. You've either got it or you dont. Hes amateur footballer level.

No, you've got it wrong. Anyone taken as a rookie, is seen as needing more time to develop they're games to the standard of AFL.

Some drafted players end up de-listed, and relisted to the rookie list, to give them more time.
