I don’t understand why people put stock in the point system at all. It’s just something the AFL invented to justify their father son and academy system.

When it comes to trading there’s no logic to saying pick x, y and x equals pick 14 unless you want the pick for academy/father-son points.

If you’re intending to pick a player with a selection then it’s worth what you want to pay for it.

In summary, Collingwood can get stuffed.

Out: Tomlinson
In: Pick around 40-45

That then leaves us with: 13, 44, ~45.

If Tomlinson goes, I expect we'll need to use all three picks. That being said, armed with 13, our F1 and Freo's F1, I imagine we'll try and move up to the top-10 this year.
