I think it is likely Grundy is very similar to Franklin in that this year he wasn’t a great player but still best 22 and commanded down respect. I think Grundy has 3 years of good football left and after that he won’t be useless but not AA.

Well Jackson is a good player. We replace him with essentially Pick 13 and a future 1 who are both probably several years away.

It's no different to Gold Coast losing Rankin. They get pick 5 for him. So they've basically developed him for 4 years and got nothing to show for it.
I still don't see how one player leaving has stunted the teams development. We brought in Grundy for the meantime and still have time to fix our ruck stocks for the future.

We have Kalani White in our future plans surely? Still a few years away but the kid is huge! There's our young ruck coming in when Gawny retires. If we need a ruck in the meantime then we get a journeyman to fill the role.

Neita is 193cms Kal-el looks like he's 197-ish cms! Geez, kid looks a tall lad!

How tall do you think he'll get to? My guess is 209-10Cms

I don't suppose anyone on the board has a friend of a friend of a friend whose cousin empties JT's trash and can tell me who we will be drafting.

Wouldn't mind watching some highlights as a last bit of interest before switching fully to cricket for the next couple of months but don't want to waste time watching ones we aren't picking.

It’s too hard because we (and they) don’t know which picks we will actually end up with.

I heard earlier in the year that we rated Sheezel and Clark higher than others, but they’ve both pushed up everyone’s board since then and won’t be available at 13.

I have a feeling we might trade out of this year with a view to getting the highest pick (or set of picks) next year.

Pick 13 and 2 x first rounds next year give us a good shot at getting high into next years draft, but I can’t see us getting into the top 5 or 6 this year.

Kalani is 6’6” at 15 years old according to his rather chuffed old man. Kid is huge.

Will be interesting to see what he ends up doing. Breaking high jump records supposedly and is a very good basketballer. But he'll be a father/son if he wants it in 2025 draft. So much natural sporting talent, along with his height, he'd be a guaranteed pick up for us I reckon. And good timing with Gawndy close to retirement age.

I'd be disappointed if we trade out of the first round this year. We have to take 2 picks in the draft and there's got to be someone available at 13 worth picking.

We've already got two firsts and two seconds in next year's draft. I think trading out of this year's to get another pick next year would be overkill, plus we would be unlikely to get good value because it's next year's picks that everyone apparently wants.

I'd say more likely that we play it by ear on draft night - if for example there's someone we really want still available at 8 we might try and sell West Coast on moving back to 13 to get them. Hard to see anyone higher than 8 being prepared to move because they all need to improve their lists (apart from Geelong but they are reportedly set on Clark) but you never know.

spot on. which means we're paying him 1.1m for the next 3 seasons of good football essentially. It depends how much of a cliff you think he'll fall off after the 3 seasons.

Noticed #18 and #14 still yet to officially sign on.
Talk of them being offered minimum wage which is fair enough.
I would have moved #18 on anyway. Apparently there was an offer to return home to the hanger which he has so far turned down.
Seems we have let go more than we have brought in so far with Baker, Rosman, Hunt, Bedford, Jackson out and Grundy, Schache, Hunter in along with Chandler being upgraded. I'd def be a fan of shipping Melk down to the rookie list and trading one of next years first rounders for another pick.

Don't know much about most of those players, but Stack and Wallis stand out a bit.

Where's the evidence that he's a very good basketballer?

Dansters really doing his best to solidify himself as the most clueless poster in Melbourne board history. Everyone's got a couple of bad posts and then there's Danster who's trying to take every spot in the top 100

Agreed. Will be surprised if no club takes a punt on these two. Aarts is another interesting one. Same with Poulter. Thought he showed some good signs with the Pies. Are any of these guys better than Melk? Not sure. Stack is the one I'd probably want the most out of this group, but Wallis is a smart footballer and seemed to always find the goals against us.
