Agreed. Will be surprised if no club takes a punt on these two. Aarts is another interesting one. Same with Poulter. Thought he showed some good signs with the Pies. Are any of these guys better than Melk? Not sure. Stack is the one I'd probably want the most out of this group, but Wallis is a smart footballer and seemed to always find the goals against us.
I can see a few of them potentially getting a lifeline, but I don't see anyone on the list worth us pursuing. Wallace was a decent mid who re-invented himself as a reasonable forward, but he's 30 now and I would prefer any opening for that role to go to a younger player (Laurie or the like). Aarts was a massive whipping boy for the Tigers fans. He's quick and brings good pressure, but decision making seems to be an issue for him. Stack has a shocking attitude towards being a professional athlete from all reports which is a shame as he seems like a real talent. I'm not sure what caused Poulter to go from playing several games last year to just the one this year, but him not being offered another contract after his first two seasons at the Pies makes me think he's not going to make it.

I could easily see us using pick 7 and next year's first of ours to get a pick inside 3-4. GWS and Essendon don't need key forwards. So could potentially use our interest to leverage 2 for 1.

Nah north and GWS both want key forwards. North's midfield is ok, they really done NEED JHF, what they do need is key forwards and backs same as GWS.
Cadmans not getting out of the top 5 and I can't see how we get in unless we wayyyyy over pay for pick 2 which looks likely to head to port.

Don't change buddy.

List of potential in-demand DFAs in the Herald Sun today - not saying we should go for any of them, but there is some pedigree there:

  • Jed Anderson
  • Mitch Wallis
  • Jake Aarts
  • Callum Brown
  • Tyler Brown
  • Riley Collier-Dawkins
  • Daniel Howe
  • Quinton Narkle
  • Ely Smith
  • Sydney Stack
  • Liam Stocker
  • James Rowe
  • Caleb Poulter
  • Jack Magden
  • Martin Frederick
  • Connor Blakeley
  • Jake Stein
  • Jackson Nelson
Wouldn’t say no to any of Anderson, Narkle, Stack, Poulter, Frederick or Stein. The rest are either shit or types we don’t need.

More like it would be the bit in She's All That where Freddit Prinze Jr. puts pubes in the guys lunch.
How is that your go to and not the chili Cook off south park episode lol

Schache, Ben Brown, Tom Mcdonald and Gawn/Grundy. Pretty sure the recruiting team are just going to close their eyes over the next 18 months until they can attack next year's draft and bring in quality.

Its a good strategy, did you know next year is a super draft. Genius level thinking by Mary had a little Lamb

Would you be okay with trading out our pick 13 for someones future 1?
If we think that there is no one worth taking this year who could have an immediate material impact and there are players we could take next year who are better, then yes.

Yeah it's a nuanced question, having the pick next year is also a tradable asset where as if we use it this year it isn't.

Theoretically that is correct but it's pretty wild to imagine we'd get to pick 14 in the draft and think there's no way any of these kids makes us better next year. It's not like we just won the flag, we've got a fair bit to find and sometimes you can't put a price on a young kid with a bit of spark and dash making the team better overall.

Yea, but I wouldnt make the move til draft night, see if someone slides that we thought wouldn't first.
