If anyone is interested, here is a podcast with Logue and Will Schofield. Logue comes across as a ripping fella.

Got told we are confident on Logue a few days ago.

According to Boomer, the coaches have met this week multiple times to review all the finals sides & discuss what they all think we need.

Great listen.

It was also mentioned that Cam Matthews, Hawthorn's Football Operations Manager has signed on with us. It might have been mentioned elsewhere but it's news to me.

Yes we need depth as always going to have injuries , suspension, form

I can picture the conversation now...

Telephone: Ring, ring, ring.
Bruhn: Hello?
North: Hey, I heard you wanted to come home to Victoria?
Bruhn: Yeah, Sydney sucks.
North: How would you like to come to North and be a depth player, you know, in case we have injuries, suspension or form problems?
Bruhn: ...click...
North: Hello? Hello?

Well obviously you don't say that do you! You expect him to analyse the players already there and hopefully in his mind he knows he can push for a spot... he will do similar with Geelong...

I have some serious doubts about Logue... I mean, that haircut.
Better shave off all them sideburns or not getting a game.

Guy is a bog average forward, but pretty good in the D50 with our KPD stocks pretty low he is a good addition at the right price.

Well, there is the risk that he may have to wait 10 years before he gets a game at Geelong.

And hopefully that will be in his mind in his decision making process.... Clark had to head to Freo to get a game

We still desperately need a couple of small forwards, capable of kicking a goal and adding pressure as soon as the ball hits the deck, without them, a defensive press becomes twice as hard.
Sure do. But anyone expecting all our holes to be filled with quality players in one off season is going to be disappointed. CHB is in my opinion our biggest gap so I'm very happy if it is filled with Logue who I rate highly and is perfect age wise.

I'd like us to address small forwards through the draft. Sheezel could be a good start. As we climb up the ladder, picking best available small forward with our first pick as Melbourne & Dogs did, is a way to get the absolute cream of small forwards.

The drafts a certainly more complicated then people think, it’s about picking the best player at the right price.
You reach for a player of need and we could end up with another Dan Nelson situation on our hands.
In saying that I don’t mind Sheezel even at 1, skill like that is something that you can’t have enough off. I feel you put him anywhere and he’ll play well.

There was some commentary about it a couple of days ago, not sure what it means for J Mac?

With Clarko, Viney and Matthews you would think soft cap might be tight...hopefully he can stay on in another role, a great club man.

I'm not suggesting that we do anything out of the ordinary. Particularly with very early picks. Reaching for the right player is always a risk but can also have enormous upside. We did it last year with Curtis and it's looking like a good decision. At the more extreme end of the draft, Melbourne did it with Pickett which has been a revelation.
