We should chase the Bowes pick7 salary dump.

Id be happy to trade all of.

Setters
Dow
Kennedy

To make that happen.

Go to draft with 2 Top 10picks

Kennedy (lisfranc)
Walsh (back)
Hewitt (back)

All have potential career threatening injuries of which we have had no updates.

We need durability, and given Kennedy has shown when injured it takes him along time to get back, he is the one thats expendable but would attract interest

Whilst this is true, it will hamstring future years because next year we will need to have 2 first round picks in the year (or cop the restrictions in place for teams who haven't met this threshold).

A player like butters would probably be worth it though.
We wouldn't have to use 2 next year, we just wouldn't be allowed to trade a future pick.
And just because we are allowed to trade picks, does not mean I think there is any chance we will (except perhaps for other 1st round picks).

In regards to Dunkley. I’ve seen posters talk about Brisbane getting him with pick 15.

Adam Cerra cost us 8 and 46, Dunkley should cost more, it will cost the Lions a lot more than 15.

Theres also some complaining Acres for a F3 is overs, I hope they aren’t the same people saying Setters and Dow are worth 2nd rounders.

JHF isn’t being called selfish, arrogant, self-entitled because he has asked to return to Adelaide to play his football (as is anyones right to want to go home), he is being called selfish, arrogant, self-entitled beeause he has acted selfish, arrogant, self-entitled from the moment he walked through the doors at Arden Street. Everyone and their Dog knew he was off the moment trade period started and that’s because he made that clear from as earlier as halfway through the year.

But… but he slept in the guernsey!

It’s outstandingly hypocritical that the media is dripping the dribble from their chin with “pick 15 for Dunkley” should do it - when the chorus of pick 8 for Saad and pick 6 for Cerra was deafening- Dunkley is a best and fairest winner.

Pick 15 is way unders in comparison - Luke Beveridge is right, Brisbane need to “pony up”.

All these bold deals some are talking about - such as how we might get Bowes and pick 7.

It’s clear to me that Austin doesn’t think that way. He’s far more conservative than a JSOS. He has his objectives, he gets them done with no drama, he moves on to next year. Yeah, it lacks the theatrics, and maybe it’s not as bold and out there as we would like, but personally, I love his attitude.

I hope North absolutely rort the Power in the trade. Two first-rounders minimum, and Power would want to do their mightiest to upgrade their current first pick (8).

I wonder if we'll fish out our first to upgrade our position in the draft?

Exaggerate much?

A few tweets from Norf supporters suggesting that Butters should be in the trade.

Now with that thought in mind. How often has a club rejected a trade for a player who has nominated them? 😂

I would take Butters before JHF if I had the choice. Trading him with a first rounder or two attached would be madness. Just won’t happen.

Has had an exceptional couple of years - those he allegedly paid overs for (Saad, Cerra) have worked well and those where he allegedly got unders (SPS) has been a masterstroke. Contracts of all the must-signs are sorted.
Still think the Stocker decision was a mistake, but suspect Austin wasn't leading that conversation ...
Acres for a third is really good business if that's the way it works ... and watch him get decent value for Dow.
As for Bowes, he's not even that good. Would completely go against everything we are trying to build.
Most important part of Austin's work - his decisions are aligned to what the coaches and playing group are committed to achieving ... a big change from the previous regime.

Always staggers me when people are more interested in the potential of an unknown draft pick over a proven commodity. Acres was in some media commentators All Australian teams in the front half of 2022, a future third is an absolute steal. Loving what Austin is doing

It’s why I don’t care about getting Bowes + Pick 7. That draft pick holds no actual value right now, the value comes in developing a player and hoping for the best. Doing the trade will be money on the books that I would rather go to TDK.

TDK needs to earn that money first. He hasn't done enough yet.
