If young Ben mirrors the actions of Lynch and leaves Gold Coast for us in free agency it will mean that (like Richmond) we will have already won the premiership and he will be the sprinkles on the icing on the cake for more flags.

We’re banned from having anyone named Butters ever walk into the club againIt feels like we’ve now got a “free hit” at going really hard at others who fit actually pressing needs.
We had all this cap space and picks set aside in case he wanted to come to us and now that we know he isn’t coming, we can maybe throw some Hail Mary’s out there and see if we can land someone like a Butters or Smith.
There is a definite synergy with the words Butters and 'free hit'.We’re banned from having anyone named Butters ever walk into the club again

It's pretty standard these days to extend first round draft picks pretty quickly.I think I just heard on the news that sinn has signed a contract extension. Big show of faith
Yeah there carrying on from some supporters as though he was an absolute crab and not worth even looking at.Bet we’re now kicking ourselves for not ponying up the future 2nd for Xerri. He’ll probably have taken over from Goldstein by the end of the year and no longer feel the need to leave them.
With Ben King signing on till 2024 with the Suns we are going to have some coin to entice a very good player next year.Yeah there carrying on from some supporters as though he was an absolute crab and not worth even looking at.
It was obvious by his VFL form he has a future.
If we don't make finals and look like a regular finals side no one of real value will comeWith Ben King signing on till 2024 with the Suns we are going to have some coin to entice a very good player next year.
Could always get Hanners on a 1 or 2 year extension lolIf we don't make finals and look like a regular finals side no one of real value will come
Unfortunately there'll be half a dozen clubs or more in the same boat. With Ben King signing on till 2024 with the Suns we are going to have some coin to entice a very good player next year.

So is Dunkley.
Just follow the white lines...and the dots will connect themselves. There is a definite synergy with the words Butters and 'free hit'.
Don't say it man...it could still happen with Lether's as CEOCould always get Hanners on a 1 or 2 year extension lol

Mitch Geogieardsis agrees with this comment.Which is why we need to continue to play him and let him develop.
So far so good, he was also our best key forward again in our intra club.
So far nothing suggests he won't make it.
At the moment I'm more than happy to put in time and effort developing our own promising key forwards rather than getting hung up over another one and suggesting it's a failure if we don't land him.
I think it will be more of a failure if we can't develop our own.
But nothing to me says he isn't a key forward. You don't have to be 200ecm amd 100kg to play as a 2nd tall.
wish i could like this twiceWhich is why we need to continue to play him and let him develop.

I reckon Caldwell would have been a good pick up.It feels like we’ve now got a “free hit” at going really hard at others who fit actually pressing needs.

They have attempted to find that other star midfielder to go with Merritt - they picked up McGarth from the draft which was a #1 pick , they grabbed Shiel who has not really showed anything great and they will be hoping Caldwell comes good.I reckon Caldwell would have been a good pick up.
I think Smith is an absolute flog
I also heard here say we were linked to ClarkoApparently Caro said on radio today that we had a massive crack at Zac Butters, but he’s re-signing with Port.
