Alot of Hunter Clark talk on the North Melbourne board. I'm getting very nervous

If we trade him for something that isn't amazing.... while having no reason to be forced into trading him....
Then we will have a stark illustration of what the people running the club are doing- screwing the club to try and save themselves:

How would they be saving themselves by trading Clark for bugger all?

Doing something... is better than doing nothing. (If you're trying to save your job)

If we have another crap year and miss finals AGAIN in 2023- at least they (gags lethers) can point at moves they tried.

If they sit on their hands this trade period and do little (which could be the best result for the club in the long run if degoey etc aren't gettable), then the blowtorch will be on the likes of gags to explain why he should keep his job if we don't have a big 2023.

They will be under huge pressure right now to make SOMETHING happen list wise after a garbage 2 years.

Selling a guy like clark when not being forced to, for average compo (like say pick 12)- if we've had a crap year and miss finals again in 2023- he can waffle on about how he's bringing in elite talent etc.

When really all he's probably done is shuffled some deckchairs around to make it look like he's doing something

I think that's a fair result too.

It is a shit result, the Kent is contracted, was a pick 7 and is coming into his best football.

If the club trades one of our best who is contracted for pick 12, they should all be sacked.
A complete overs or we keep him. FFS [emoji849]

If Cerra gets 6 and a 2nd rounder the bar is set.

Are these compo picks that are tied to the Roos finishing spots to be taken before their current future 2nd and 3rd (eg 19 vs 20)? Or would it be the spot after those original picks?

At least.

North don't have that so GWS need to figure out if they want to trade.

After Taranto and Hopper is done they need to get us a Cerra deal.

Better still Hunts stays. We gunna put 5 years into a quality player then just sell him for SFA.....while contracted?

Spare me

So do I, but we have made a player available after two years ravaged with injury

I can't see how we get any more than that

We are best keeping him IMO but it seems the club aren't as keen as me
Have we actually said he’s available or did Clarkson just state he’s a target? I could well have missed something.

The club have not said either Hill or Clarke is available.
Total speculation all round.

Which is why it won’t happen.

Yeah speculation is kind of nuts. It seems obvious they have been enquired about but the club doesnt really have an interest in trading them unless something absurdly good is put on the table for both club and player. Aka, first rounder and a second for Clark and 800k for 5 years.
Hill I think we would do a late first/early second as I believe if he is willing to move to North for no financial gain and no shot at another flag then his purpose for playing needs to be questioned. IF is bolded as there has been absolutely no credible source that he is wanting to move at all so far.

Agree to disagree mate.

I don't think he's one of our best. Has plenty of potential but sometimes players aren't motivated enough to get the best out of themselves and from what I'm hearing he isn't.

If North want Clark, I’d be saying pick 1 for our pick 10 and Clark. Rates Clark at pick 7, exactly where we picked him up.

Which is pick 2 in an even draft and probably take the same player with that pick 10 anyway. Turning 2 into 1 and with our terrible drafting history we'd probably blow it anyway.

Why? Contracted. We don't need to consider any trade.
We've been through this a dozen times Joff, why do you feel the need to keep going round and round?

As I said, the best I expect to be offered is a pick around 12.

If we keep him I'll be more happy than anyone here. I've never said we can't keep him, I hope we do.

But I expect our club will know his value and clearly the reason he's seen as gettable is because out club says he is

Clubs see him as gettable according to the media

That has clearly come from somewhere inside the club, otherwise why would they think he's gettable?

And if he wasn't gettable we'd have announced that by now
