If North are willing to guarantee him time on the wing, he might still want to go whether Clarko is there or not.

Based off what Collin Young just said, Hill is frustrated he isn't playing on the wing and wants to be guaranteed he will only play there next year. Mentioned he was meeting with Hill early next week to discuss his end of the season and a conversation in his exit meeting about playing wing.

But I don't see how we can do that - DMac has outperformed Hill there, NWM has been looking good, Wood's end of the year was better than what Hill had been producing plus Billings coming back form injury who should rotate between half forward and wing. That's a lot of others fighting for wing time and if Hill is going to sulk about having to play other positions, he might need to go elsewhere
Dmac could play as a half back wing
Defensive forward even.
Should be use for his pace and defensive pressure so even as a tagger would work

I have been saying it all year. The inside contested ball winners are back in vogue. We started to get rid of ours in Dunstan and Bytel just as they are having a revival.

Tom Mitchell even going to the Pies by the look of it. Good teams are loading up. Richmond, Geelong also chasing more.
So bring in Mat Crouch on penuts

Possibly. But he gets more right than wrong.
I think Twomey gets good mail.

But sometimes I think everyone gets carried away with scenarios to make trades fit.

A salary dump for Hill who’s past 2 seasons have been decent for us - just didn’t make sense.

There’s also been reports that the players lost trust in him after how many chances he got and being instructed to gift him easy balls to “get him going”

Everything has to be on his terms for it to work out. Ratts bent over backwards to accomodate him and it’s put him in an awkward position with the other players

Can you point to these reports? Or is it just stuff on Bigfooty? Anyway don't see how Ratten bent over backwards for him when he moved him to a HBF.

Never seen so much crap written about a bloke top 5 and top 7 in the B&F. For his price he should be at least top 5 every year, but he is not a bust like the way you lot carry on.

What is Brad Crouch?

When did we get rid of Bytel?
What is Jack Steele?

Gringo gets an idea that suddenly becomes his reality. Apparently inside mids are back in vogue. Hilarious, they never went out of vogue, but any way to critisise the club hey?
I notice Dunstan forced his way into the Melbourne inside mids all year because he was back in vogue :D

We were 5th for 2022.

So far we sit at 7th for 2023 taking into account the retirements and delisting, which is .1 years older than 6 other teams.
0.1 years older?
So, assuming that's negligible, we're roughly equal 7th to 13th. If they keep bringing up that "fact" during the week, hopefully someone points it out to them.

Grundy is contracted for another 5 years left at $1m per year.

Collingwood are in the same situation as they were a few years ago.

They need to get rid of one of their players to satisfy DeGoey.

They may be wanting a salary dump, there is an opportunity there if our recruitment team is smart enough.

Ruck is just about the most important position on the ground.

One thing to point out with players like Bowes is that we can try extend them for slight increases.

That way the yearly hit is easier to stomach.

So if he is owed 850k next year and 500k the year after.

I’d try talk him into 3 years/500k a year ($1.5m)

Decent player who hasn’t hit his ceiling. Who should become a good/higher end role player.

Geelong just won a flag with the oldest team in AFL history. Are they too old?
In fairness, he was talking about the age compared with the amount of games played.
I just think he's misrepresenting the age side of things as usual.

And he did make a point that Geelong is an exception to the "sweet spot" rule.

Campbell didn't even get a chance last year when Ryder was injured. He's one more year older now... I don't think there will be any difference.

Max Heath is at least 2 more years away.

Then there's the other guy.

I reckon we only have one AFL ready ruckman.

If you think Grundy is just a pure ruckman, then you haven't seen him play.

we don't need Grundy. Fortunately he's Coll's problem and may well then become Melb's problem.

Would we pay 1.7milion for pick 7..??
Yep in a heart beat
Just give hill another year.
spread it over three years for 2.1 mil over three.
So would be on 700k for next three years.
That’s 400k sorted
Move Jones on end of 2023 and maybe Clark with recent retirements we should have plenty for Bowes, pick 7, Degoey and M Crouch
It’s only tight for two years.

Do all the media reports that say JDG is certainly staying at Collingwood mention what day he might be signing with them?
I believe he's back in the US at the moment....

Stanley says hi…but on the flip side
Tom Hickey was so so so bad

How did we play with Ryder and Marshall playing together?
Ryder was a better tap ruckman than Grundy could ever be. Grundy's tap work is terrible. Just taps it to his own feet. Bottles up the game. Suited Buck's defensive game style perfectly. He's crap.
Marshall as a sole ruckman is a much better (and cheaper) option IMO

Has to be. Gags couldn’t be that stupid

Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m thinking about the possibility of a trade involving North, St Kilda and Gold Coast.

Picks (2022 and 2023) and players swapping around.

Gold Coast searching for future picks that North have been gifted.

Suns looking for salary cap relief. North looking for experienced players.

Saints looking to improve their draft position in the first and second rounds this year.

It seems to make some sort of logical sense. But it’s just a theory.

Really well.
Was Ryder taking up about a million dollars of the salary cap?

if a trade were to happen ... “there’ll be a sizeable contribution from the Collingwood end – five years to run at a million dollars a season.”

That's what will happen if Grundy leaves Collingwood.

The blokes on Trade Radio said that Bowes could renegotiate a new deal with another club that spreads the money out over a longer period if it is to his advantage.

Whether he would want to do that is another matter.

Heard from a friend of JHF's mum's yoga instructor that he loves melbourne even if he isn't in love with north melbourne.

He likes the bayside lifestyle and just bought a house near the beach in Sandringham.

Have heard that if it isn't this year, he will certainly request a trade to us at the end of 23.

Also Heeney very disgruntled after the GF performance and considering options to add some black to his jersey.
