Well hardly, but players don’t leave big, well run clubs if they’re not getting lowballed. ( Well, unless you are Hanners). He’s played all his footy there and wouldn’t really want to leave. He’s not being low-balled by them - they initially withdrew their offer but the way he’s played recently there’s no way they’re losing him - it’s all welcome home, Jordy, all is forgiven.

He’s not giving up playing at the G, all the big games, in front of huge crowds. And McCrae vs Ratts.

Both of Kwaby Boakye's parents were born in Ghana but moved to Melbourne with their three children. Boakye took up AFL in Rockhampton at boarding school as a 15-year-old. Elite speed running the 20m under three seconds and an accurate left foot kick, Boakye is a very athletic player who can play from half-back to half-forward.

Nah, Membrey chose to leave when he knew Goodes was re-signing for another yr. Didn’t want to waste another season just dominating in the Swans reserves. Was easily AFL standard but for structure, was never going to be bumping Goodes out of the seniors

Anyway, I'm not against us taking a DFA or two, as long as they aren't 30 years old.

There have been some handy ones over the years, but it needs to be a young player with some upside.

He was offered a contract because they wanted to keep him. He wanted to be traded but because we had pick 1 in the preaseason draft, we didn't facilitate the trade and then later Sydney did Membrey a favour by delisting him just so he could start training earlier.

So no, he wasn't pushed out. He declined the contract and walked elsewhere.

We are talking about selling off a guy to "clear space" that we paid a fortune for in dollars and trade capital and the club wants us to trust that the people who would make these decisions are on the ball. You are trying to sell this as some kind of positive. It's a diabolical * up, like cashing in your super to buy Crypto at the peak and telling everyone how clever you are getting 5 cents in the dollar back.

Clark is the guy we have invested 5 years of hope in and as our highest pick that year and one of the few first rounders, we hope he's one that might come good and carry us forward. Again, we picked him and now we're hoping we can cash him in, likely for less than we paid.

It looks a lot like stalling for time because they've fallen short again, They can sell missing finals next year on all the kids and not have to face any consequences for their failures. This footy department is racking up more * ups than wins at the moment and really needs a torch shined on them.

If you can't see how people would be upset by the club n this situation you don't really understand psychology.

At the risk of going all Gringo let me tell you about Paddy the Irish businessman:
-bought watermelons at the farm for 10 cents a Kg, parked on the side of the road and sold them for 9 cents a kg.
Said that the only thing stopping him making money was the unimaginative bank manager who wouldn't loan him money for a bigger truck!
Pretty sure that Paddy is now in charge of our player trading!

The St.Kilda problem is that we get young guys with promise, over pay them early and they get lazy thinking they’ve made it.

Yeah Hunts has had some bad injuries but he’s put on next to no muscle, has an awful tank and runs like he’s in quicksand.

If he puts in the work and builds his tank and can go through the middle it won’t matter that he can’t run, he’ll be Pendles like.

But he’s come in and been spoon fed as an early draft pick and hasn’t had to work for it

Same with Billings

I called it half way through the season. Delist.

Happy to keep him on as depth if we lose Bytel.
But he's patchy as hell.

Seriously though, we don't go for delisted, that happens for a reason.
If we go down the path stav suggested, it is a direct admission the trading hasn't worked.
If we got two top dps it doesn't necessarily mean two to three years waiting. They seemed much more developed these days.

Not one of Windy, Naz or Owens looked out of place in the seniors first year, with Windy looking a long way developed.

Owens and Windy were fast tracked through the academy. I heard it discussed on SEN last year, that academy kids come in about 1 to 2 years ahead of kids who only have their school and TAC footy. They get access to all the staff and equipment that seniors get and train along side them which mentally makes it easier. That seems to check out to me. Nas was good but to me looked tired a lot earlier and dropped off a bit after a good start.

Yep , Clark was worth more a year ago, and probably more a year before that.

Actually surprisingly good.

He wasn’t great in a game I saw. He looks like an Adonis but didn’t seem to put it out on the park. Perhaps he’s come good.

Possibly but could also mean he’s peaking earlier and lower ceiling. I’m not as into him as others.

It makes sense to trade him if we got a Cerra offer as it’s not a loss based on the last 18 months. Takes the pressure off him and us.

I just don't see the logic in what you're saying might happen.
If they want to land Brisbane's FRDP there's no need to lose a good player. Also where's the effort to retain Bytel?

You just don't focus on youth be trading out youth. Hill is a different case of course.
