Was also the loudest voice for demanding Higgins gets dropped after rd1 and critical that we didn't, only for Higgins to come out and get the most coaches voted rd2.

Moral of the story, Nick rants about things like he is a Bigfooty poster but isn't correct about a lot of things.
and he is correct about a lot of things and this makes no sense -Nick gave so much to the red white and black and is frustrated like the rest of us

It does seem weird that we are saying we have to let go of Hunter Clark and possibly Hill to get draft picks in but then when the opportunity to get a high pick and a good player for cash we don't even have a look. It looks like one of those once in a lifetime deals for a side in our position.
Agree.
If so, there is either a cost or risk that outweighs the benefit.
Or the player is just not interested.

They could work for Seek if the boss would add some staff. I think a lot live out Pluggers way around East Bentleigh and places where the property isn't as crazy. There are a few around Elwood still though.

I was the biggest critic of Seaford but it sounds as though the concept wasn't terrible, just the facility was poor.

Frankston oval overlooking the bay is one of the best ovals in Oz IMO. Sunset over that place looks like you are somewhere exotic. If they'd spent the money on that instead of that backwood in Seaford we would have been in a different place now. Opened my mind up a bit. It wasn't as terrible an idea as I'd originally imagined, just poorly handled.

I thought Isa would be steak Sanger or parma and a beer for lunch. You're getting a bit too city these days, it will be poached eggs on sourdough, smashed avo and a sprinkle of organic dukkah with a soy latte soon.
I’m partial to a smashed avo and grilled chicken on Italian ciabatta with some home brewed specialty coffee

Maybe Ralph's source is actually Nick. Looked like a setup to me. Maybe Nick trying to whip up the masses.

I don't know, maybe, if it was it was clumsy because Ralph turned to water immediately - with his quivering voice and flapping arms, he looked like it was duck season and he was the duck.

Roo speaks his mind and some of you want to sink your little size 6 boots in.
Pathetic.
It’s about time our ex champs in the media showed some genuine bias.

Think it was Dal maybe that said Hill should be a third round salary dump. COME ON MAN, put the saints glasses back on and spend all off season talking about Brad Hill is easily a first rounder lol

What was it about what he said that you disagreed with?
Nothing in particular that I disagree with.
Hes just adds a layer of drama onto every statement he makes.
Just acts like a clown, looking for the next clickbait headline.
Fits in well at fox and will have a long career.
Better leave it at that.
Stans getting triggered.

On the face of things the club not pursuing Bowes & pick 7 appears an absolute farce? There must be more to it?? Whether it being they have JDG over the line and Hill is staying and they dont have the cap space?

Lets hope for the clubs sake they have a reasonable explanation because it looks like a cluster f..k.

My recollection is that we wanted Frankston but the council knocked us back

I remember there was a fire at the club rooms around the time of the decision making, there was also parking and space issues.

I wouldn't be too hard on the club for the decision, it was 10 years ago now. I'm more worried about what is happening now not way back then.

Whats more concerning the club is in the midst of a major football review, right before one of our most important trade periods. The club said it was already in the middle of the review when it announced it... still no word from the club, coaches already departing... Very Concerning!!!

The last bit about "it is understood St Kilda would be able to offer De Goey a larger contract financially", and this is just guessing, but what if we ruled ourselves out of the Bowes deal (if we were ever in it) based on the idea of if we keep Hill and Clark, then we need an amount to cover off the draft picks and a contingency in case we need to increase the De Goey offer.

If we wanted results now, then you've got to take a risk and if that's going with De Goey over being in the conversation for Bowes and pick 7, then that feels like the right move to me.

Also, on the Bowes stuff, note that from the time that it came out he and pick 7 were up for grabs, Clarko became embroiled in some controversy which then had a knock on impact on Hill wanting to leave for North which has a knock on effect on what our SC position looks like.

I'd love to see Roo have more of an influence at the club. The dude has skin in the game. Not only was he the driving force behind literally the only sustained period of success our club has ever had (bar maybe the mid 60s), he'll have at least one, maybe three sons playing for the Saints in 10ish years. Needs to make sure his boys aren't running around in Tassie.

Is it? How did the trade period end up for us? Save everybody some time.
Not being able to get our hands on another top 10 pick is a missed opportunity. Without a doubt.

That was supposedly the reason we were looking at trading Clark according to some on here. We won't he getting near that for him.

No idea how the trade period will play out... not really relevant to whether this is a missed opportunity or not though.

The AFL really feels like the EPL now. Players more likely to join instant contenders or the reigning Premiers. Can't really blame them, but I think the draft will have to be reworked at some point. It's likely Geelong are going to have a better draft hand then North Melbourne. Certainly wouldn't blame a top draftee wanting to join Cats, Swans or Pies, more than GWS, Saints or North. Geez, even if it was my own kid and as a die hard Saints man, I'd prefer I shipped my kid off to the Swans than join the Saints or North and stay in Vic.

Possibly the biggest nuff post in this thread which is saying something.
The bloke is just showing some passion!
