Think I'd prefer RCD of the two. Hopefully we invite him also.

Me too. We were apparently into him a couple of years ago, and he definitely has traits worth looking at. No harm at all in inviting him to train with us. Whomever performs stronger, we keep. Both are young, will be low cost, and both seem to have to a point to prove. I'd be pretty happy to have another player turn out like Mason Wood.

RCD is also a POD in that he's 191cm tall (or 193 by other sources).

Can't see him putting himself in competition with Stocker and Bytel.
FWIW l think Stocker is a player but has struggled with chronic anxiety which is the last thing you want in a high performance and very public endeavour.

Maybe, maybe not. Anxiety is a friggn killer and can be like carrying 1000kgs on your back. Sometimes it's too much to overcome.

No endurance, and massive anxiety issues, which to his credit he has been very open about. No harm in giving him a run to see how he goes.

The missus tells me my stamina is sadly lacking and it also gives me anxiety. I feel for the poor lad. Needs a Geary to take him for a run or two.

I'll put you in contact with my ex. She likes a player who can come in , Kick a goal, then off to the bench.

Hate to say it but sometimes I think it indicates or confirms the player is sub-par.

A lot of this kids get culled because the don't have the endurance which is required and after 3yrs at a club they would know how he was developing and by the sounds it wasn't good.
And being a midfielder you need elite endurance.

Happy to give Stocker a run. But a lot of these man child inside mids that dominate as juniors and are ranked around mid to late first round that give me the same vibe.

For every one that dominates (Cripps / Fyfe) or clicks to become elite (Brodie, Steele), theres a bunch whose lack of pace and non-elite footskills means their game never translates.

Again no issue with a free hit. Better than spending a highish pick on one (cough Dunstan cough) and then delisting or trading for a bag of peanuts. Just seems like there is always a few of these types running around the state leagues racking it up

Yeah but everyone is different as is their dose of anxiety. It's a condition on a spectrum and can be enough to drive some to suicide.

There are different levels for different people though. Plugger seemed to have more social anxiety outside the field.

Don't we have something like 9 open spots? I think sometimes picking up an older developed project player has as much if not more upside than some of the questionable types taken late in the draft. Guys taken after about 40 in the draft must have about a 5% chance of making it. If Ethan Phillips or someone is still there late you take them but if all the players that you liked are off the table, you pick up one or two train-on players or keep spots open for the preseason or midseason drafts.

We have 6 list spots open.

As you said, it's worth a shot. Stocker has enough talent to be taken in the first round. Maybe he just needs a different environment to fulfil that talent. It's one of those scenarios where there is no downside if he never makes it on the list and only upside if he can contribute something.
