Prefer Ross to tag and let Windhager off the chain.

Great idea if we want to stop some slow bastard from getting the ball.
I really don't mind the tagging/midfield development that worked well for Jack Steele.
Windhager by himself is not "on the chain". He's a young player who won't get much of it if he's left to his own devices. Unless he proves otherwise , but that's all the young players.

If tagger is the best role we have for Ross, then his time is up.
I don't think that's the case yet.

That game against Lions where Neale had very low numbers and Windy got heaps, that shows me that Windy knows what he's doing

Neale got 16 ( 11 contested ) touches, Windy got 17 ( 8 contested ). So they got around the same.
The bonus is that Windy kept Neale to 16 and got it just as much.

When Steele was tagging he got more of the ball than when he played free at first.

I guess those training him and watching his match sim's will know exactly what he can do. But i'm happy if he's a high possession tagger for a while.

Well he won the best clubman award so i take he is rated by people that know , yes he is going to need to be at his best to keep his spot but it just seems he is an easy target for a few on here
Having 5 on the bench will allow us to play all of hill, dmac and wood in the same team.

If you could bring on the player you subbed off in the event of an injury that would make sense.
It might make way for the position of professional tactical sub. Eg a single player who can cover multiple positions well. Perhaps Battle or even Sharmy may become specialist subs.

Far more likely to see sides experiment starting games with a slightly taller set up (whether that's a dual ruck set up, or 3 KPFs, or a very tall backline, say for us, Cordy + Battle + Howard + Coffield + Wilkie) and have the ability to bring on a smaller running player late in the 2nd/early in the 3rd to change things up if they aren't working IMO, as a player versatile enough to play multiple positions to a high AFL standard will generally be good enough at one of them to be comfortably best 22. Happy to put my hand up if wrong though.

Just another reason we need a very astute coach.

My understanding of that piece of equipment is that it is something that is blue.
This is why my father looked at me, shook his head as if to say: “This is the product of my loins?” when I showed him some of my handiwork back in the day.
God rest his soul.
He’d be pissing himself at my uselessness.

PS: for my benefit, what is it?

Delisted Bomber Josh Eyre is likely to receive a lifeline from St Kilda despite being offered a train on opportunity with Essendon.

Eyre was given the opportunity to train on with Essendon for an AFL lifeline through the pre-season Supplemental Selection Period (SSP), however looks to have taken on an opportunity with the Saints as he looks to make his AFL debut.

The boyhood Bomber was delisted following the 2022 season after not playing a game at senior level

Eyre was drafted with Pick 39 in the 2020 National Draft as a Calder Cannons product and highly rated member of Essendon’s Next Generation Academy, however failed to find his feet at VFL level as a swingman, playing 18 games in 2022.

To put that into perspective we had an average list age of 24.8 last year, so have dropped roughly 1 year off.

If we go by last year's stats there are only a few teams that are younger (Adelaide, Hawks and North with both Essendon and GC being the same age)
