Hi Futbolista any chance you could update the top 10 with their position or type of player.

Hi Futbolista any chance you could update the top 10 with their position or type of player.

I think the top 10 is pretty secure for now, particularly with Sanchez, Curtin, Clark and Austin all injured apparently.

But here is a mini-profile of them.

1- Koltyn Tholstrup (S) 188cm Forward
A mercurial forward. He can outmark players much taller than him and can avoid traffic with a side step. Also a very long kick. Almost a throwback to the days when high marking, elusive, goal kicking forwards used to feature on the winners on the ABC. Occasionally has a spell in the middle and seems to do well there also. He's got to be a top 5 draft pick contender for 2023. Gary Buckenara anyone?

2-Daniel Curtin (CL) 195cm Defender
I think Curtin is probably the best known player in this bunch because of his efforts in the state 17's. A really athletic, rangy left foot defender. Knows when to intercept, knows when to spoil - moves superbly. He was tried in the forward line for Claremont early in the season but that didn't work. He's a PSA kid, so won't get to see much of him until the 18's championships.

3-Riley Hardeman (SD) 185cm Defender/Mid
Hardeman is the kind of lefty defender that coaches need to shut down. He plays like a forward - first to the ball, gathers and he's away and almost inevitably he will go on a bouncing spree - sometimes in heavy traffic and most of the time he manages to side step or out pace most tacklers. Having said that he does try and take on too many opponents on occasions but it's a fair trade off.

4-Coen Livingstone (P) 197cm Ruck/Forward
I keep seeing Logan McDonald when I watch this guy. Maybe it's just that they both wear/wore the Perth red and black. Great mover, excellent skills for a big bloke but he's more than an athlete who looks the part - he actually get's the ball and impacts matches. He's in the WA 18's squad already and the way things are going he will be required up forward. So much upside.

5-Koen Sanchez (EF) 176cm Forward/Mid
Players of this height bracket have to be pretty good to mix it among the bigger lads. He is a classy forward and can go midfield. Has the smarts. Sadly, due to injury, he hasn't played at all this year and I hope he'll be back in action soon so we can get a more up to date picture.

6-Clay Hall (PT) 189cm Mid
Son of former AFL/WAFL player Derek Hall. Blond hair, headband, left footer, smooth mover. Impossible not to notice. Distributes the ball skilfully and is a great size for a midfielder. Can cut through traffic and open up the game and provide opportunities for others. Maybe hasn't got as much of the ball as I thought he might so far in 2022 but that will come.

7-Tyzreise Clark (S) 185cm Forward/Mid
He hasn't played a game yet in 2022 due to injury and other concerns but was named in the extended Subiaco colts squad yesterday so that's something. I'm guessing he's still based in Kalgoorlie and I hope he relocates to Perth sooner rather than later because I don't see a player making a WA 18's squad based in a remote country town. As for his footy. well, he's really strong at the contest - although his peers have caught up somewhat in size and strength but he has the silk to go with it. (Edit - I've been told that he's relocated to Perth this week - he's back)

8-Reece Torrent (PT) 182cm Defender
He's probably going to be a midfielder but for now he's a rebounding left foot back. For a defender, he really tries to impact the game with some dash and solid distribution of the ball. Has a slightly unusual kicking style as in he appears to guide the ball to boot on top of it rather than on the side of it like most. Nevertheless he hits targets. Having an outstanding season.

9-Kobe Austin (EF) 192cm Defender
I think he injured his knee in the first game of the season. In the pre-season state exhibition game he was outstanding. A lot like East Fremantle defender Matthew Jupp with his red hair, no-nonsense dour spoiling and stopping and long clearing kicks. Is a PSA player so not sure of his injury status right now but one to watch.

10-Mitchell Keene (P) 175cm Midfield
Yeah, he's not tall but what a competitor in the midfield. Just goes in hard and mixes it with bigger opponents. I can't fault his skills either and he has a yard of pace. I didn't even notice that he was only 175cm. Another left footer too. There seems to be a lot in this age group. PSA kid so only occasionally available for Perth.

Lucky 11-Lance Collard (S) 181cm Midfield/Fwd
This kid could be a bit special. One of those players that is clean with everything he does but most excitingly can tuck the ball under the arm and burn off just about anyone. His running goal when he started on the wing and bounced his way to the teeth of goals in round one was breath taking. If he get's 15 or 17 disposals you can be rest assured that he has had a big impact. Currently injured with a shoulder.

Luamon Lual a chance to be the next Sudanese born first round draft pick after Mac Andrew and Leek Aleer last year?
Luamon Lual was great. I really enjoyed watching his game. Needs some work on his kicking but he's got plenty of time to fix this. His work rate was A+.
