Couple takeaways from Adelaide’s reserves finals campaign so far:

Zac Taylor if named in round one is a lock. We should be looking to get games into him and he’s got a great game for SuperCoach, wins plenty of the ball at stoppages and is an excellent user who handles himself well in traffic.

Luke Pedlar is quality. Monitor his pre season closely as he’s got great size, can explode from stoppages and more than capable of hitting the scoreboard. Is currently playing forward but if he can stay fit and have a good pre season I’m sure he’ll be on ball and is exactly what the Crows need in their midfield rotation.

Even if Fischer McAsey gets traded and gets games I’d be very wary of going near him. Obviously has great size and excellent hands, but plays with the intensity of a sloth and I can see a lot of 20s and 30s as a result.

I've done a provisional starting team.

I'd be going Ben King over Bruce. I don't trust Bruce's body at this stage. Macrae would really depend on what happens with Dunkley.

Colour me pedantic but the rookies are $123,900 so you are over your salary cap 😜

Cunners will be 400k +

love it.

ive got a bit of a provisional list going too...

gonna go a bit more mpm so probably cant fit macca and doch. but otherwise pretty similar.

30% disc is huge..

will be in most teams if thats the case.
30% off $447.8k = $313.4k

Not sure if the 67 he scored this season will be counted for anything

At $313k is he a lock? Maybe not

depends what youre going for.

im aiming to pick up players that can make me an easy 100k and avg as close to an 80-100 as possible (depending on price)

players get injured. suspended.. would rather trade in fallen premos and breakout contenders rather than try pick them out preseason.

in saying that will obv grab the clear favourites. but im looking for value next season.

Reckon there's absolutely zero chance Cunnington will be priced anywhere near what people are hoping for.

Take how they handled Cal Ward for example.

1 game in 2019.
R4, subbed out after doing his ACL minutes in on 4 points.
Started 2020 at 511k.
He basically missed an the entire season and only got a 10% discount on his 2018 average of 104.6.

Not exactly sure how they decided on who gets what discount, Cogs only got a 20% discount, but he played 7 games (5 H&A, 2 finals).

Think 30% is reserved for those that missed the entire season through injury, just anecdotal, don't think they've ever come out with the criteria for the discounts, and they won't because they like to pick and choose when to apply them, see Ward, Gaz, Titch in previous years.

Cunnington managed 3 games (2 AFL, 1 VFL).

Imagine they'll dud us on Dom Sheed too (1 game), but Elliot Yeo managed 5 games, that might be enough, but no way to know until they post official prices.

Will Brodie played 5 games last year, 1 unused as the sub for an average of 41.2.

iirc the magic number this year was 5450, so it appears that he didn't get a discount on his starting price.

Assume that means that they take 2nds games into account, meaning a fair few of those listed earlier in this thread won't get a discount at all.

Tom Green with another preseason under his belth and with Hopper/Taranto/Bruhn gone = :padlock:

Dunkley at Port will be tempting. Very similar to Wines though, they might bump heads going for the ball lol

Wines/Dunks/Rozee/Butters (with stints from Boak) is a strong midfield for Port

With the names listed you would need a couple of games to see where everyone is playing and their roles. Dunkley will be around $600k I wouldn't be starting with him at that price or any Port midfielder really.

What about Dunkley at Brisbane?

It was a really quick game I'm not surprised he was quiet in the 2nd half. It will be interesting if he gets a game next week if he does it should be good for next year.

Darcy is named again this week I think he will do well less nerves Good luck mate:thumbsu:

Lock for next year:padlock:

Lot of ~110 avg mids with ~120 potential: Trac, Zerrett, Andy Brayshaw, Crippa, Walsh, Parish and Steele

BSmith, Butters OR Rozee and Marshall appeals as F1-F3

DEF/MID Gus Brayshaw looks very noice. Sicily, Dawson, GusBrayshaw and NDaics D1-D4 looks beautiful

If Dons play Draper as the solo ruck, he's worth a look at R2

Yeah but they're running out of midfielders LOL

I might double GWS, Perryman down back and Tom Green in the middle
