With Murray being added to the SANFL squad, does that no ruck in the draft or can we then free up a spot with long term injury and grab Murray?
Not your what you’re asking there. We can still pick up a ruck in the draft if we want , but I suspect with us signing Murray to the sanfl , the chances we grab a ruck in the draft is slim .

If Rob or Strachan get injured next year (long term ). we could add Murray to our afl list in the mid season draft

ESPN mock draft has dropped

We are taking Wilson, Edwards and Goad..I much prefer Wilson to Windsor from the highlights and what I have read about them from others on these boards
The only way the draft is literally turned on its head is is if North trade Pick 2 and 3/Pick 2 and F1 for Pick 1.

Gawns beard, DeKonings hair and Jacksons nose..guess that would make him Gandalf
As long as he's a wizard around the ground, I couldn't give a flying fart in space what he looks like.

Corrected my post, yeah would we be taking another developing ruck in the draft if we’ve already got one?

If we can upgrade him maybe that’s the plan, if only we had a rookie spot…

Yep, looks like goad is a pipe dream.

I suspect we trade picks with Geelong, take 2 early picks , and possibly one late.?

Something like

O’Sullivan
Wilson
Moir

If he performs well next year in the SANFL they may add him to the rookie list in next year's draft (assuming someone else doesn't pick him up first)

Murray doing his knee has really screwed us, ideally we should only be looking at running players. Half back, half forward and midfielders. Hamish must really rate a player very highly if they are desperate to move up the draft, I just hope 10 isn’t involved. I think It would be stupid to lose picks10 and 20 for pick 8.

We aren’t drafting for the ‘Now’ with these early picks

These are for medium and long term making our club / team stronger , not next year

Yep, it would be beyond stupidity.

Totally understand but think it would be better to trade 20 into next years draft if we have no interest in using it.
If nexts draft is truly a midfielders draft, that will only strengthen our hand for that

Why open up 3 list spots then? Could even be a small chance we don't re-contract the currently uncontracted Borlase if there's a player available late we really rate highly?

Seems likely we now think trading up is going to be very difficult if not impossible unless we sell the farm and the plan would seem to be to take 3 picks in this draft?
Seems to be talk of 14 and 20 for Essendons pick 9 and 35.

Gives us more flexibility in case we need it and can trade in a pick from next year if we find someone that we want
