I get that but West Coast are at a level of shitness that takes years to come back from and they’ve only just have started their rebuild.

They don’t have a bank of gun kids who ready to go.
They have s**t depth.
They’ve lost key experienced players the last 2 years.
They’ve been absolutely belted in games this last season.
They’ve still got cooked senior players on their list even with a cleanout of sorts.

Then throw in the fact they will be in line for AFL assistance if they have another s**t year and they don’t have a lot of incentive to move up.

North will improve, they are ahead in their rebuild.
Hawks are on the up and brought players in.
Other clubs would have to implode to drop so low and none are close.

I think West Coast are a sure thing for bottom and a lock for bottom 2.
Are we likely to get someone who’ll help in 26/27 with a ‘24 pick? While Dawson’s still in his prime?

At least with a player like Curtin you get another year of development

That smile look like a man knowing he's staying on his home state....

If we do happen to land West Coast F1.... I wouldn't be jumping around thinking it's automatically a top 3 pick.

We all thought Carlton had hand delivered us pick 1 or 2 and it blew out to 4 because of the AFL gifting Gold coast picks and Melbourne having a horror season.

Who would have thought we’d be talking about Crows taking our F1 off us in a pick swap!? Goodluck in the draft fellas. Goad and our F1 would be a pretty good result for you I would have thought.
That’s crap

if that’s the plan and we don’t keep Curtin ourselves my hope then he is off the board so we use our picks

we need Curtin ourselves NOW

Oh please! There’s trolling but at least try to be half realistic. A minute ago you’re saying it’s impossible to say, look at Moir. An hour later it’s “confirmed”.

Surely no one is taking this clown seriously?
Maybe it’s Hamish burning off some nervous energy … post on BF about his plans to guage feedback !

Depends who the better player is. We will also get a quality player at 10 who could help in 26/27. But you don’t draft for 3-4 years so it’s not a practical question

Both arguments are solid. You are right re Curtin and I would trade to get him now.

However I mentioned a few posts back IF we could get our hands on the WCE pick and it ends up being 1 or 2 in the supposed strong midfield draft next year - we might be able to trade it down a spot or 2 and grab another good 1st round pick - still get our top end mid whi might be ready to go in 25 or will be good to really impact in 26 + use the other 1st to get Petty who helps the here and now in 25. Maybe we could even bring in our 25 1st to grab extra trade collateral.

The thought of having possibly pick 1 or 2 in next years draft is exceedingly tempting if somehow the stars align tonight

The more you see of Clarko the more of a flog he seems.. he only won flags with hawks cause he was given draft concessions.. he’s not the mystical magical coach everyone makes him out to be..

he’s a scab who wants everything to go his way and he wins flags off the back of handouts.. he’s now trying to do it again at north..

I bet as a condition of joining Roos he would've demanded the AFL give North draft pick concessions.

Do people believe our premiership window is open for the next two seasons? If so we need the talent on the list now.

If people think a realistic tilt is still 5 years away then it worth getting WC F1st
No I dont.

We havent even made Finals, our last Finals campaign was in 2017.

WC paying $3 for most losses. NM paying $2.50

next in line is hawks at $8
I saw. But George Kramer reckons 20-1 , so there's some money to be made on arbitrage...

No player we draft this year is going to help us win a flag in the next two years especially if our targets are talls and rucks

Time for a Bearded Clam rant(sorry)

If WC future f1 is up for grabs, we need to grab it straight away as they will be bottom 3 next year. Next years is a midfielders draft and that’s what we are lacking. Unfortunately we won’t be able to get one in this draft, because there are only a few and they are out of our reach.
Sick of reading that we can’t wait any long for an A grade midfielder and that we are neglecting grabbing one. We can use WC first next year to grab one or even trade it down and grab another first. This will give us the best opportunity to finally break our drought and win a flag.

That’s what I’d do in his position, to be fair.
