Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Facing a big step up in intensity and pressure in week 1 of the WAFL finals, Curtin's typical calm and poise was on display this game. He split his time between defense and the forward line, and as usual looked more at home behind the ball.

Moves just like Bont.

Everyone gone cold on the Wizard?

Not much more to say about a guy that puts a move on defenders, and has executed the next one and disposed of the ball while said opponents are still reacting to the first move. He's in freak territory, with a small question mark over his ability to replicate what he does against the giants at AFL level.

Dursma looks almost flawless. He's been overshadowed all year by the most freakish (really) small forward we've seen in a while. It seems natural that it's taken a bit longer to get everyone else's attention.

Baffling choice to make if it comes down to both being available. I've always felt in the ideal world you'd draft both, unless maybe the club thinks there's a chance at an elite tall forward on offer. Never been sold on picking small forwards early, but these two guys are special.

Dursma's potential to impact the midfield the way he does the forward line is the only question mark on him if there was one.

North are freaked by the go home factor. They will take Duursma and Watson if they don’t trade up to pick 1.

McKercher and Curtin certainly aren't a bad pool to choose from but the go home factor and lack of improving our forward-line probably makes this the worst outcome for us.

FWIW I have heard they are enamoured with McKercher.

Do we have any father sons in the mix? From memory Kobe Williams and Ky Burgoyne eligible.
Kobe Williams looked like he could be a draft prospect?, similar traits to his dad, so we'll see if he develops in the next couple of years(didn't play u16s champs, but looked OK in the trials), I have not seen Ky so I can't comment on him yet.

Would we take Curtin if he fell our way? Seems to be a given that he’s going west and very little talk of him here as a prospect.
If he can play genuine CHB, then yes - I'd prefer Duursma, but dominant CHB / CHF are like gold.

If Eagles take Reid then I think that would be a good move. Probably could get a straight swap the next year if both players want to get home. And if he wants to stay with us then that’s just as good as he looks like he’ll be a very impressive player.

Big Game Zane had his finger prints all over this win for the Power. Taking marks, kicking goals and setting up his teammates with kicks into the 50.

I try to keep things positive but it feels like every week one or two Talent League broadcasts are effected by technical difficulties. This time it was the sound which disappeared after 5 mins and never returned.

So good to watch him.
His ability is clearly elite, but he has a way to go in his physical development.
Reid is clearly above the pack in both ability and physical qualities atm.
The upside to Duursma is going to be HUGE when his body catches up to his talent.

This is probably the best top 8 or so that I have seen in a while, with so much positional diversity.
The Top 5-10 is usually dominated by midfielders and maybe 1-2 proper talls.
We have a small forward, 1-2 forward utility types, 1 tall utility, 1 all-rounder, 1 elite KPF, 2-3 mids.
Nobody with a top 8 pick will be displeased with the player they get.

This is why I think he's the third best pick.

He does this every game. He's the best two sided player in the draft, just as Will Day was in his, and we know how that turned out.
We have needed the Wizard for a few years now, here he is.

i just watched some Logan Morris highlights and can't believe he's not in the top 20 in many projections.

Perhaps his body of work during the season hasn't justified a higher ranking, but wow he looks incredibly good as a forward.
Excellent qualities.

I haven't seen a KPP with such good strong hands since... J Roughead?
Morris has this excellent ability to protect the fall of the ball in a marking contest, and knows exactly how to hold off his man in 1 on 1.
My favourite thing he does is leap in the air with his arms outstretched to mark the ball firm, first grab, at the peak of his leap.
Superb timing.

He reminds me of a Tom Lynch/Jeremy Cameron combo and looks a natural forward.
I really hope he is available in the second round or so and we take him.
Amazing potential for development.

Yeah 100%, picking up McCabe, Morris & Duursma/Watson/McKercher would be an incredible off season.

I think if he was an inch or two taller he'd be talked up as a top 10 pick. Just in that awkward size.

He had one really good game but then not much else. I would personally take archer Reid over him if we could trade in after matching the McCabe bid.

If he has good character and has had some circumstances ******ing his form/development, like an injury or being played in defence… then this is exactly the type of risk I would love to take.

The breakout game vs WA was so perfect. I can’t help projecting his improvement w development in a pro environment.

If you watched Morris’ highlights and compared them to Archer Reid’s — Morris looks the superior forward imo.

It’s a question of development to realise more of that top-level performance.

Morris has really long arms for his height.

Tbh I’m not such a fan of having 2m KPF. most of them are useless when the ball is on the ground and take few contested marks.

Id much rather them in the 190-195 range and be more useful around the ground.

I think Morris is a Smokey in the same way M.Lewis was. Displayed high level qualities suited to a position he didn’t really play much.

Logan Morris is my preferred 2nd-3rd round pick atm.
