Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

A few of the boys only played 3 quarters, not just Harley. When they play Carlton in a few weeks the boys that played 3 will play 4. It’s the easiest way to even it out.
I could tell they were rotating through them. Just giving some context to his 21 possession and 7 clearances. Already a big game with full time but even better when he only played part of the game.

I assumed they dragged him to give everyone else a chance to shine.

Personally I will only be comfortable in drafting Watson with our first pick if we select a KPP in the MSD and/or we recruit a KPP during FA.

We desperately need to add to our quality talls, and there must be a really good reason to pass up on Curtin or Archer Reid if we don’t end up with the #1 pick.

Watson reminds me of a young Chad Wingard

Who are the shortest players over last 20 years who you’d be happy with as a pick 1-4? I can think of Boomer Harvey at 177cm, Gary Ablett 182cm, Rioli 177cm, Daniel Kerr 178cm, Sam Mitchell 180cm, Crawford 174cm, Milne 176cm. Very very few

Have I missed someone shorter ?

And of course players and midfielders in general are getting taller so 170cm now is more like 165cm when most of those guys played.

I note that Rowell (180cm) and McGrath (178cm) were the best U18s in the country and haven’t been able to translate to superstardom against men. And they are still quite a bit taller than Watson

Watson looks bloody talented but he’d have to defy history entirely to be a superstar at AFL level

Would love to go but have a party on. Would be interested to see how Moir goes, I reckon he’s the only one I see as another potential pick 1. Has some serious skill that lad, but still way behind Harley at this stage.
Throw everything into this draft. Be aggressive, get Harley , move heaven and earth plus get Watson.
Priority pick

Lots of focus on Watson - but how do people rate Moir? Most of the draft watchers have him above Watson in rankings to date.
Moir is over rated imo, but we'll see how he goes in the champs, can he outperform others?

I have him at 5 up from around 10, because he has produced at sanfl u18s the last 2 years and looked decent at 1 game in the champs last year, but I hate sanfl u18s because who they play against doesn't look talented at all, so you can get really good results playing against terrible opponents like Tom Scully did ect last year.

Also Watson's height can affect him in games, similar to how limited Caleb Daniels is at times, but he is a great talent nonetheless

Watson was real good in the last qtr but he seemed to get knocked off the ball easily in the first 3. He threw his hands up and dove a few times trying to get a free kick that he normally would in Coates. Gonna be very interesting to see how this plays out. I still have him at 2 but if he has another quiet one against men he may slide back to past 12 where I had him originally. But agree a bloody good talent.
