Its been a bit of a slow period in the U18 schedule so I thought I'd start putting together full highlights videos from the Champs series for the top guys. If people enjoy these and find them useful I'll keep going.

The more you watch, the more he looks like a Jai Newcombe clone (just cockier).

There’s commentary his own camp is contributing to the hype. There will be fallout in his first season, but he may well come through as a genuine top player.

More and more I read these draft write ups and watch some footage the more I'm on the future first traded to get two top ten picks.
İn any other year, I'd say grab Colby and not worry about a gun mid for years but we have more than enough kids already
İf the club believes we're 5 years away from a premiership than Curtin is a no brainer but that's NOT the case .
No use spending up much needed draft capital to get Harley.

I don't think we can write Colby off on account of having other kids already - Colby possibly much better than the lot of them.

He + Watson would be insane. Duursma pretty handy as well.

Haven't seen a better 17 year old than Harley last year.

Had a few injuries/concussions this year and still performed very, very well.

edit: he also has that unmeasurable ability. He has that dog in him. You can't teach that.

If we believe our ITKs, this is our guy.

I'm choosing to buy in. He's just special, his finesse around the ground is sublime. It's been a while since we had a natural forward, Bruesty and Wingard not withstanding, all our draft picks have been midfielders who can push forward. Even Moore, who I adore, is more of a mid who pops up around the forwardline. We haven't had someone new who instincively knows how to get boot to ball and ball to goal for a long while. He reminds me of Kozi Pickett, but he has the scope to play further up the ground and run riot. I'd suggest getting used to these highlights.

Can’t remember seeing a player who had elite athleticism as well as elite footy iQ and skills. Unbelievable

Out of interest how many games did you see him play and live?

I just can’t see him not being a star…. He’ll be at the rare end of the small forward list. He’s got some Toby Greene take the game by the scruff of the neck qualities about him.

Watson demands the ball and looks the type to win games off his own boot. A real threat and would make our forward line much more dynamic. He’ll net us more wins next season than any of the other top prospects within our range.

What I like most about Watson is that I want to watch him. He’s a guy I can see my kids wanting to pop a number on the jumper. Whether he’s the best option at our pick or not I don’t know but having just seen and reflected on Buddy’s retirement, I really miss excitement in a Hawthorn jumper. I miss having a player that would just make me laugh and enjoy the spectacle, the way Bud and Cyril used to. The Buddy highlights over the last week brought back such amazing memories.

The thing that I love about the Wiz it doesn’t matter who’s on him or how tall he is as he would be a nightmare matchup. His ability to know when to go/lead, hits the ball at 110% speed and then marks it more often than not. Then with everything else he’s got …….. hope we either get the Wiz or Reid with our first but no need to sell the house for anyone unless other circumstances come into play.

It seems a lot here are on the Watson train which I have been since Reid has looked out of grasp. Is there any chance we could get a poll on this thread to get an idea of who everyone wants? Mods?
