Why would we do that?

That’s a hell of a lot of collateral to do what you’re suggesting.

If the Saints are serious about getting hold of the Gold Coast pick ( Gold Coast will off load it ) and putting that on the table for Miles then turning that into a top five pick land is pretty much a gun Curtain/Duursma/McKercher or Mitch Edwards. Once you get past them the draft evens out for mine. A highend pick and a couple of back end development players with our current list would be a very good outcome for us this year.

Next years pick could be 20. Would burn that pick for Duursma this year no problem.

If a top 5 pick is so good why is anyone trading it to us for a teens pick + future 1st?

Moir isn't going to get much of a look at the ball during the nationals by the looks of it.

This Allies side did look good on paper though. SA doesn't have a midfielder we would want on current form.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA 2.0 3.0 7.1 11.2 (68)
ALLIES 6.2 9.7 10.9 12.12 (84)

GOALS
South Australia:
Delean 4, Fawcett 2, Gladigau, Herbert, Holt, McShane, Moir
Allies: McCormack 3, Walter 3, Rider 2, Sanders 2, Gothard, Kirk

Key forward steals the show in U18s season-opener:

Jed Walter was everywhere as the Allies defeated South Australia in the first match of the 2023 Under-18s Champs

A spirited second-half fightback wasn’t enough for the Torrens University SA U18 team after it succumbed to a well-drilled Allies outfit by 16 points at Thebarton Oval.
Trailing by as much as 49 points early in the third term, the Croweaters then banged on 8.2 to the visitors’ 2.3 to nearly steal victory in their opening AFL National Championships match.
Smooth-moving SA midfielder Sid Draper found some meaningful support after the main change as Jack Delean hit the scoreboard with four goals.
But the damage had been done in the opening hour as the Allies ran hard through corridor while producing great link-up play with skillful use of the football.
Draper – who is eligible for the 2024 AFL Draft – was SA’s only genuine contributor across four quarters, finishing with a team-high 23 disposals, eight inside 50s and six tackles.
Defender Alex Holt collected nine disposals, six tackles and five rebound 50s while SA ruck Alex Van Wyk battled hard in the centre square for eight disposals, three clearances and 24 hit outs.
SA had 13 fewer inside 50 entries for the contest which translated to 11 fewer scoring shots, proving pivotal in the final result.
South Australia will now turn its attention towards hosting arch-rival Victoria Metro next Sunday at Thebarton Oval.
The Croweaters will then hit the road for contests against Victoria Country (June 18) in Melbourne and Western Australia (June 24) in Perth to round out their campaign.

Sunday June 4 at Thebarton Oval
SA 2.0 3.0 7.1 11.2 (68)
Allies 6.2 9.7 10.9 12.12 (84)

BEST – SA: Draper, Delean, Holt, Van Wyk, McAuliffe, McCabe
GOALS – SA: Delean 4, Fawcett 2, Moir, McShane, Holt, Gladigau, Herbert

Are Draper sharp phillipou Welsh Burgoyne Montgomery all 2024 draft?

Or is sharp and phillipou 2025 with Gil wakelin? I’m thinking the second option might be correct just checking.

Not sure on Sharp, but Philipou is 2007 born, so that would make him 2025 draft i reckon

Appears to be a historically good Allies team and a historically bad SA team.

Moir might be the next Lemmey the way things are panning out.

Moir has had a better year than everyone is giving him credit for. Lemmey had a write off of a season.

I still think Moir is in the top 3 most talented players in this draft.

We need the Suns 1st round pick.

If we somehow managed to get that can we bundle it with next year's 1st to trade up?

Gold Coast look like having 3 academy kids who will be bid on in the top 10 this year. I don't know how they will manage that or even if they'll consider trading their first.

WEST Coast pair Coen Livingstone and Lance Collard are among this year's group of Next Generation Academy prospects tied to clubs.
Clubs have access to Next Generation Academy talents with Indigenous or multicultural backgrounds, although under the League's draft rules they are not able to match bids on them inside the first 40 selections.

Scouting notes SA vs Allies.

Sure Moir is still playing with that hip issue.
Crows can't take him with their midfield issues you would think? He will slide to us if we want him.
