List Mgmt. 2023 AFL Draft

Interesting draft ahead for port

Currently picks

35, 51 , 64
(Based on last years finishes - picks linked to pies and freo)

I have no real feel for this draft yet, especially in that range.

There will be a watch on duursma, who is tipped to go far earlier than our current draft picks.

Parker has a pretty decent record with later picks, and we’re in a position we can gamble on kids with late picks and not be up shit creek if they fail.

I would argue another key defender 193cm+, an in and under bull (wines will be 29 leaving us with only drew as the in and under)

And shockingly a ruck if Hayes leaves and teakle busts.

Would also argue that if Georgiades leaves us a key forward that can pair with Todd and potentially Scully. I would be loathe to only have Scully as a developing kf if Mitch leaves. Good thing is with Todd’s and scullys height we can be open to the style and height of said kf.

Yea keep rinse and repeating on talls - I think that’s Portia’s line from a while back. However, tall forwards rarely are found at the picks we have, not saying Scully etc won’t make it, just that the stats are against them. Mitch Lewis does show it’s possible so up to the players to take the opportunity.

Gold Coast may need points for Walter so may be keen to swap some picks.

This draft, at first glance, appears to have more depth to that 35-40 mark.

The midfield bull you're looking for is Tom Wheaton South Adelaide player and a Port supporter apparently. So far looking at a R3 to R4 pick at this stage of the year. 2021 bio data in the under 17s comp had him at 185cm 83kg. Guess we'll know more as this season progresses but worth to keep an eye out.

Yep. Kane McAuliffe is another

Nic Cadman, the younger brother of last year's Greater Western Sydney No.1 pick Aaron, is eligible for the draft this year, as is 199cm Vigo Visentini, younger brother of developing Port Adelaide tall Dante.

Zane Duursma mentions he's a Port fan now along with his family (20:18 in video) on the AFL show GETTABLE, never grew up supporting a team and mentions he wore the Port guernsey during the 2018 draft night when Xavier was drafted (20:02 in video).

Gosh - recruiters will be worried about the 'go interstate' factor with Zane.

Looks like the clubs written him off as a kf..

Reckon it’s an uphill battle for him to stay on the list.
RossFC did Lord play as a forward or a KPD during the SANFL trial? Did anyone filter back once K Marshall went down with his ankle?

I remember someone reporting that he kicked a goal in the second half, so I assume he played forward the whole day.

Didn't see him much, but when I did, he was forward.

Ryley Sanders gets the 1st Rookie Me write up of the season. Takes a good photo.

Cody Anderson gets a mention for Eastern Ranges there as well. We are going to hear plenty about him during the year and may not be a high pick, pace being the issue?

Rookie Me team of the week.

Will Dawson 198cm got the nod in the ruck.

We will be looking for Rucks I would think.

Apparently tried at fullback by Gippsland Power, ok but just then moved to Ruck/Forward and come along very nicely over the past 12 months. Maybe one we should be keeping an eye on?
