Scouting notes Vic Country vs SA.

Tyler Welsh is going to be a good pick up for the Crows. Thank Christ they don't have a midfield.

Did Joel Freijah play for country? Like him if he slides. And how did Slade go in this game? Seen his highlights against Metro, thought he was very clean as a midfielder.

Slade was ok did a few good things.
I'm really on him as a small defender with a little work but having watched Lou Montgomery go around I'll wait a year and give him the job. Beautiful leg.

Joel Freijah did goal in junk time but a quiet day overall.

Who do you like in this draft?

I’ve not watched as much lately this plenty of them have been around for a while.

I'm miles behind, need to catch up.

Around our picks I'd be looking at:

Harvey Johnston
Taylor Goad
Logan Morris
George Stevens
Archie Roberts
Nathan Philactides (likely gone, but might sneak through)
Sam Van Rooyen

I like stevens. He’s super competitive, seems like a very safe choice.

For some reason early season I thought goad and luck were both next year so didn’t pay attention to him until lately.

Seems like a good draft to have bailed on. I wouldn’t want us trading back into it really.

Stevens is Ollie Wines mk 2

SA vs WA in the under 18s.

Being played as a curtain raiser to the Freo/Bombers game so probably a 4 pm start our time.

Lou Montgomery listed to start across half back.

Coen Livingstone maybe one to watch as a Ruck Forward?

This is SA's 4th and final game. Vic Metro have 3 more, WA 2 more, Vic Country 2 more and Allies 3 more. Anyone know why its so lop sided and not everyone have 2 more left after this game?? School holidays?

The Torrens University SA U18 team has had its colours lowered by Western Australia in Game 4 of the AFL National Championships in Perth.
Seeking to build on the momentum gained with a spirited win against Victoria Country in Game 3 last Sunday, the Croweaters battled hard to trim their deficit to just three points at half-time at Optus Stadium.
But a damaging third quarter from the Sandgropers, in which they kicked 3.2 to SA’s two behinds, proved pivotal as they extended their advantage in the fourth quarter.
SA’s Bodie Ryan was adjudged as the Croweaters’ best player for the second match in succession, collecting 13 disposals and four tackles while fellow defender Will Patton was another strong contributor.
The Croweaters’ captain tallied 19 disposals and a significant 11 rebound 50s as he battled hard against the tide in the backline.
Under-age midfielder Sid Draper capped off his brilliant carnival to be SA’s leading disposal-winner with 20 while also collecting eight inside 50s.
Hard-running Loch Rawlinson and talls Will McCabe and Patrick Weckert also drew praise from coach Tony Bamford and his coaching panel.
Strong-marking forward Tyler Welsh followed up his five-goal haul in Game 3 with another two against WA, to be his side’s only multiple goal scorer.
SA finishes its 2023 campaign with a 1-3 win-loss record, earning a victory against Victoria Country at Ikon Park in Game 3.

Saturday June 24

Western Australia 4.2 4.5 7.7 10.10 (70)
South Australia 2.1 4.2 4.4 6.6 (42)
BEST – SA: Bodie Ryan, Sid Draper, Will Patton, Loch Rawlinson, Patrick Weckert, Will McCabe
GOALS – SA: Tyler Welsh 2, Kane McAuliffe, Phoenix Hargrave, Jack Delean, Loch Rawlinson

If we sign Bergman I suspect Patton could still be there at our 1st available pick?

We don’t sign Bergman any pick in the teens will land us Ashton Moir. Do not see a non SA side having any interest.

I like Coen Livingstone he stays involved in the game. He probably ends up about 203-205 cm
by the time he’s 21yrs and if you think he could bulk up a bit and by a bit you want to be 110 kg he could be more than useful?

Might force the crows to pass on him. With their healthy forward stocks, would they want to use their first pick on another forward?

Walker about to retire, Himmelbergs a spud, Gollant wont make it. Theyll take him
