Thought so.Yes and also eligible as a F/S for the Saints.

Draft picks: 37, 42, 73
List chasm: Another team that could be looking at a lockdown defender later in the draft, but perhaps more of a small to mid-sized backman. The Power have conceded the third-most goals to small forwards this season. They have ample rebounders off half-back – Dylan Williams, Kane Farrell, Miles Bergman and Dan Houston – but perhaps could do with another strong one-on-one small defender to help the likes of Ryan Burton and Lachie Jones.
Ideal draft prospects: It’d be a terrific result if Luamon Lual was still available at Port’s first pick. A speedy and balanced prospect who provides explosive run off half-back yet is just as adept when defending one-on-one, Lual looms as an ideal mid-sized backman for AFL clubs. The Western Bulldogs are linked to Lual via their Next Generation Academy, but can only match a bid on him if it comes within the top 40 picks. Elsewhere, versatile 184cm Dandenong Stingrays prospect Harry DeMattia could be an option. While DeMattia has impressed as an explosive and agile midfielder-forward, he didn’t look out of place when he was moved into defence for Vic Country and kept Nick Watson quiet in the champs. If the Power wanted to look local, SA captain Will Patton – a composed 193cm left-footed defender who can play on both medium and taller opposition forwards – would be an outside chance, while Tasmania’s James Leake and Perth’s Oscar Hine-Baston have fans.

Is Chad Reschke from Sturt on anyone's radar?
He looked lively for Sturt today, big body forward for a 17 year old although only 188cm.
He's been on mine for 18 months. Only reason I can think that he isn't talked up more is because he's a bit chunky and maybe a touch slow, but he's one of the best natural talents in this draft. I'd be dancing on the table if we got him late
Thanks for the post!
Clearly the author doesn't understand we don't need a small/medium sized defender.
We got Burgoyne, Jones, Farrell, Bergman and Williams in or close to our 22.
All those defenders mentioned in the article are all below 186cm. We lack height down back.
Will Patton (193cm) is not the solution we already have McCallum & Pasini at that height who will most likely debut next season.
We need another project tall defender 195cm & above to develop like Kyle Marshall as McCallum will be taken by the Tasmanian team in 4 years.
Perfect rookie candidateHe's been on mine for 18 months. Only reason I can think that he isn't talked up more is because he's a bit chunky and maybe a touch slow, but he's one of the best natural talents in this draft. I'd be dancing on the table if we got him late
Why would McCallum stay? Can be in Tasmania's inaugural starting 22 where his father was a legend...McCallum will stay here.
He'll get games next year in defence but eventually I see him as someone who could play a defensive role though the middle as well backing up Drew. Has a serious tank and pace.
Will Patton falls to our pick he's probably 195ish next year has no problems finding the ball and goes at 90% efficiency All Australian defender.
Review from SA vs Vic Country
"17 Will Patton (West Adelaide)
Tall Defender | 192cm | 79kg | 04/01/2005
Leading from the back for South Australia, Patton showed marked improvement in his defensive game with a shutdown role on Archer Reid – who has 10cm on him. The SA skipper split one-on-one tussles and peeled off for six marks, while also bumping up his numbers nicely to 20 disposals with a share of the kick-ins."
That's a good write up.
Just watching him play he looks athletic and it's just easy to see him stepping up to AFL level.

If anyone is backing up Drew it should be SPP if he doesn't need to tag.
Will Patton. Depends who we trade and if he is still 192cm by the draft.
If we were offered a pick in the 20's for Clurey, I'd be angry on behalf of the other club. 50's is right. He's worth a late 3rd, or at best swapping a late 3rd + Clurey for an early 3rd round pick.Less than zero chance we get a pick in the 20's for Clurey. I'd guess more like a pick in the 50's.
I expect we will trade back into the draft; if Georgiades wishes to leave, it is not automatic he wants to go home to WA.End of July Top 30 Draft Ranking 2023

AFL Draft Power Rankings: July 2023

South Australian Draftees
- Jack Delean (small forward) ranked #29
- Will Patton (defender) not in the top 30
- Ashton Moir (forward) not in the top 30
A lot to play out with our own list, few players are possibly going to be traded which in term brings in draft picks
Possibility of being traded:
- Tom Clurey: more opportunity, trade for late 2nd round pick according to Cal Twomey
- Mitch Georgiadis (been silent for a few weeks now but have some links to Hawthorn)
- Riley Bonner - more opportunity
- Sam Hayes - more opportunity (could become a package deal with Bonner?)
Clurey is a salary cap dump. Realistically we should be paying the other club to take on his contract.
No current season stats available
Trade in Sweet or whoever.Like Goad think he got better as the 18s carnival went on. Like Livingstone a lot. Like Vigo, Dantes little brother. We need 2 more Rucks in development for mine. This isn't a bad draft for them.
