Not quite, Round 8 against freo in Perth is on Saturday night. Zero Friday nights and no Melbourne night games however.

Big reduction in the number of Sunday arvo and twilight games which is a plus I guess.

Chief Commercial Officer Ashley Klein said the club was rapt to land MCG home games against four of Hawthorn’s oldest rivals, two of which sit on a Saturday time slot.

“Our year kicks off with a bang with our Round 1 home game match-up against Essendon at the MCG,” Klein said.

“With three more blockbuster home games at the MCG to follow after that, we think this is a great fixture for our loyal members.

Sorry Ashley - no it’s not remotely a good draw, speaking as a loyal member. This is a deplorable draw and the club should be saying so publicly.

It gets us through the rasicm and board issues for this year but probably well past time after this year the hawks start playing less games if not none in tassie in preparation for the tassie team… also worked out we play 12 games in Melbourne will be just as many as interstate teams play in their home state which is wild for a vic club…

Up to good old Giants stadium again- the AFL just fixture us every year for the lols at how bad we play there…

Only 9 games at the MCG and 6 of them home games- hardly worth buying a membership…

We don't normally get many 4.40 Sunday games. Ours are usually the 1.10 or 3.20 games

The bad thing is that even through the three-peat we had a pretty woeful draw. Compare with Carlton who had 10 Thurs / Friday / Saturday night timeslots the year after finishing bottom.
