It’s interesting, this Geelong situation.
Do we actually have any confirmation that all these Cats are going to be rested? Could it be based part in truth and part a result of talk from Geelong identities who are reacting to them not making the finals?(a rare occurrence).

I would have thought some of those names would have liked to farewell the retiring players with a win at home.

The Dogs also haven’t won in Geelong for 20 years, lost to an undermanned Cats side earlier in the year and lost to West Coast last week.

I love a load-up as much as anyone, but will watch and see what plays out here. A definite no-bet from me until further light is shed on some of the weirdness around this game.

Have you seen our percentage? We would need to beat the Pies by ~150 and rely on the Giants losing by about the same margin to make up the difference.
oh ok yeh forgot about percentage now but b4 gws game they werent a slim chance to make it to be honest.. as bad as they are/were... hmmm geelong into 4.5 hcap now pbet and 2.5 tab 1.5 b365.. Libba back is huge he's their pulse.. is JJ back? i feel they gain spunk and dash with him in

At bare minimum we will be missing the players who were absent last week or got injured during the game: C Guthrie, Blicavs, Stanley, Rohan, Close, J Henry and Ratugolea. There's six premiership players there. All reports are that Cameron and Hawkins will also miss, which would mean fifth gamer Shannon Neale and Ollie Henry leading our forward line, and likely a debutant ruck in Conway up against English.

If Cats had any incentive to win this could be a good contest but we are clearly rolling over with an eye to 2024 (and the best possible draft pick this year), and I am all for it.

Duncan also suspended

not the worst thing but to give Stengle/Henry more responsibility they have the class to take it on... think the games still a line ball... Danger will probably go forward to gives them a mobile unpredictable setup and Miers may be a shade closer to goal... midfielders like Bruhn should relish the extra responsibility too and no pressure on them like the dogs.. dogs have some soft suspect characters who I feel wilt under pressure (mcrae, weightman, JUH most games)

There was some talk on the dogs board after the Eagles loss that some of the players appeared to be putting in less than their best efforts.

A few posters even speculated that the players want Bevo gone and if the club won't act, the players will take matters into their own hands.

Could just be the ranting of angry passionate fans after a disastrous loss, but is it possible there's something to this?

The ‘you’re all making way too much sense’ multi…

Swallow 3+
Henry 3+
Tex 6+

$115 SB
Into $63 ya dirty degens…

Also like this - correlating results motivating teams further into the multi

Pies, Suns, Lions, Dogs, Power, Swans, Giants
$25 SB

Suns, Lions, Dogs, Swans, Giants all 1-39
$95 SB

Think by the time the final two legs play it’ll be a dead rubber for the Dees, the Giants will need to win to knock out the Dogs and the Blues won’t care as long as their percentage doesn’t get smashed below Sydney’s

Does Shannon Neale go forward? Do they have a replacement ruckman? Was awful in the ruck last weekend.

Neale is not a ruck - he’s a forward. Was only played there last week out of pure desperation.

I’d suggest Neale will play forward and Conway will debut in the ruck this week.

Do they have enough depth in the middle to get the ball forward though? Atkins, Bruhn and Bowes don’t get me too excited.

Bulldogs are favourites for a reason… we will be missing Guthrie, Blicavs, Duncan from our mid rotations at minimum and whispers Danger won’t play either.

In short load up $$$ on the Dogs.

Swallow 4+ @ $34 sb - Better odds might pop up but I'll take these for now given he was anchored inside 50 on the weekend for his 4 goals 3 behinds. Plus North might rest a few given they don't want to lose pick 1.

King and Luko ruled out which makes this bet look even better.

Also like Sexton up to 6+ @ $101 on SB. Kicked 6 in this corresponding final round junk game against North last year.

Also strong likelihood, by the time Sundays game starts between Carlton and the Giants, Carlton may be in a position where they have 5th spot secured and locked, and Melbourne may have no wiggle room to move higher than 4th spot on the ladder.

In this case, the motivation factor would be higher for the Sydney Swans and the Giants to both win on the Sunday. Giants would prefer to play their First week of Finals in Sydney in some way, shape or form. I also think with 2 weeks into the Finals (with the added week off), teams that are playing in Finals with no motivation to win this weekend will be playing to avoid injuries.

I can see a world where heading into the Sunday- before the start of Swans v Dees, ladder being :

Sportsbet have crunched that into around $23.91 at time of writing.

Tex 8+ $13 PB
Tex 6 into crows win $9.89 lads boosted

Kicked 10 against the eagles last time and crows may just feed him to try catch Charlie for the Coleman now that they have nothing to play for
I Initially liked this idea but blues play last game of the round now so Calton will also know how many Charlie needs (IF ANY). And if charlie kicks 2 or 3 goals it means Tex has to actually chase 11g to win the medal- which seems a stretch too far tbh.
