Looks like that Facebook link is dead but here's an active link below. So new membership records for both QLD clubs in 2023 with over 23k for the Suns and over 52k for the Lions. That's 85k+ AFL members in Queensland which is pretty crazy when I think about where Queensland footy was just 5 years ago. I don't think it's unreasonable to say Queensland will be pushing 100k members in a few years from now with both teams expected to be competing in the finals. 30k for the Suns and 60k for the Lions is a realistic goal for next year if we're both in the top 8.

Will get a better indication when 2023 financials are released
I’ve read a few clubs giving away memberships at this point
Adelaide and St Kilda both had If you put a $1 deposit down on your 2024 membership, you get the final 2 (or was it 3) games this year free. I wonder if that'd count to this yeas membership.

14 out of 18 AFL clubs have claimed record membership numbers this season. Only the Saints, Tigers, Eagles and Hawks trailing - but Eagles havent updated 18/7 and Hawks since March. Memberships close August 31.

Interesting that GWS has nearly 10,000 more Members than GC Suns!

Hopefully if the Suns become more successful and make the eight under Dimmer their Membership numbers will increase.

Melbourne have hit 70,000 members.
An amazing achievement for the club although has a cynical person I do wonder how many real members there are but I guess that holds true for most clubs.

When Gary Pert arrived he wanted premierships, 75K members and 50k home averages at the G. We have a flag, 70K membership and 48K home attendance average at the G, very very close already.

It is awesome that so many people want to belong to AFL clubs. I predict that in 2026 Hawks will have 100k, and still be in sixth. Blue will crack 100k next year and Bombers as soon as they make the 8.

Final tally

1. Collingwood = 106,470

3. Richmond = 101,349

5. Essendon = 86,274
6. Geelong = 82,155
7. Hawthorn = 80,698
