Denver is just poorly run. i dont think they did it to piss anyone off.

the fact that in a few hours they went from blocking requests to releasing him from his contract shows who poorly run the team is.

Very much hope the Panthers land Evero. 🤞

Kyler's always* given off narcissistic vibes. Couple that with all of the veiled shots that Kliff and the FO have taken at him over the last two years (that report from Chris Mortensen that Kyler is a "finger pointer" and a bad leader, Kliff getting him to call plays in pre-season games to prove its not as easy as Kyler thinks etc), I don't think the continual jabs at Kyler are unsurprising

*at least since the pre-draft process the year he was drafted
Cards job sounds like a job for perennial near-enough coaches like Jim Caldwell or Lovie Smith.

Isn't Arizona know as a retirement destination.

Cards finally land their man, well he certainly talks a good talk.

Or not. ;)

The Athletic's Matt Barrows reports Texans HC DeMeco Ryans is interested in hiring several 49ers coaches to his staff.

Ryans may not see every wish granted, but it's not uncommon to see coaches from one staff follow a newly minted head coach to his new gig. We already know that Ryans is interested in passing game coordinator Bobby Slowik, but according to Barrows, he is also interested in defensive quality control coaches Andrew Hayes-Stoker and Stephen Adegoke. Barrows also notes that safeties coach Daniel Bullocks has been "his [Ryans'] eyes in the coaches' booth on game days" and that he'd likely be interested in bringing him on staff as well.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Steelers linebackers coach Brian Flores will have a second interview with the Cardinals for their vacant head coaching position.

Rapoport also says that Flores will be interviewing with the Broncos for their defensive coordinator position on Tuesday, and that he remains a "top" candidate for Minnesota's defensive coordinator vacancy. It sounds like Flores will be the next domino to fall on the coaching carousel after a season spent with Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh, and he's certainly qualified for a big role after his success as a head coach in Miami. The Cardinals have already had second interviews with Bengals DC Lou Anarumo and Giants OC Mike Kafka.

I don't anticipate Flores getting a HC gig just yet given his lawsuit is still active. A DC job for another few years imo

He'd probably be a good fit with Murray honestly, I think he needs some tough love and Flores would provide that. But yes, I think he likely ends up DC of the Broncos or Vikings as well.

lol, love it Saints. AmericanCrow

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the Saints are expected to hire former Browns DC Joe Woods as their next defensive coordinator.

It's a quick turnaround for Woods, who was dismissed by the Browns after two seasons as their defensive coordinator. Woods replaces co-defensive coordinators Ryan Nielsen and Kris Richard and takes on a Saints defense that ranked ninth in points allowed per game (20.3) and fifth in yards allowed per game. In his last season with the Browns, Woods' defense struggled to stop the run but was stout through the air, allowing less than 200 passing yards per game. Woods' fingerprints are on some of the better defenses we've seen over the last few years, as he served as the defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator for the 49ers in 2019, and was the defensive backs coach for the Broncos when they won the Super Bowl in 2015. For now, it appears Woods has parlayed his firing from the Browns into a better opportunity with the Saints.

Why did the Saints let Nielsen and Richard go if they did a great job?

Makes no sense, I thought their defense was fine for the most part. Woods was terrible with the Browns

The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec reports the Ravens have held two interviews with Wisconsin OC Bobby Engram for their offensive coordinator vacancy.

This one has flown under the radar throughout the coaching cycle, but the Ravens holding two interviews with Engram is fairly significant. A 14-year veteran of the NFL, Engram was with the Ravens from 2014-2021, serving as their wide receivers coach and tight ends coach. He took the job as Wisconsin's offensive coordinator last season but is more than familiar with the staff and player personnel the Ravens have in place. Given his relationship with the team, it wouldn't be surprising if Engram emerged as the eventual lead candidate for the team's offensive coordinator role.

Good replacement for Duce, Montgomery got some OC interviews last offseason

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Lions are hiring Scottie Montgomery as their assistant head coach and running backs coach.

Montgomery has spent the last two seasons with the Colts and served as the offensive coordinator for the Maryland Terrapins before making the leap to the NFL. The Lions lost assistant head coach and running backs coach Duce Staley to Frank Reich in Carolina last week, paving the way for Montgomery to join Dan Campbell's staff. Montgomery received two interviews last offseason from the Saints and Panthers to fill their offensive coordinator vacancies but ultimately remained in Indy. As Pelissero notes, Montgomery is a "strong and respected veteran" of the league, and one who "multiple teams have had interest in." His hiring looks like yet another strong one for the up and coming Lions.
