Whats with all the Kyler slander. have i missed him being a Tom Brady/Aaron Rodgers style egomaniac?
Kyler's always* given off narcissistic vibes. Couple that with all of the veiled shots that Kliff and the FO have taken at him over the last two years (that report from Chris Mortensen that Kyler is a "finger pointer" and a bad leader, Kliff getting him to call plays in pre-season games to prove its not as easy as Kyler thinks etc), I don't think the continual jabs at Kyler are unsurprising

*at least since the pre-draft process the year he was drafted

Throw in the study clause the cardinals tried to get put his in contract (PA got it tossed out) seems like he doesn't want to put in the hard work to get better. It was like 6 hrs of film study a week. If you are getting paid 30+ mil a year least you can do is watch some film to get better.

There are reasons there are heaps of Kyler and Call of Duty Memes out their cos he rather be playing that than working to be a better qb.

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reports the Broncos have blocked the Vikings from interviewing DC Ejiro Evero.

Evero, who was passed over for the Broncos' head coach job, met with new coach Sean Payton about remaining with the team in 2023. Denver blocked Atlanta from interviewing Evero earlier this offseason but the Vikings are holding out for a chance to hire him away from the Broncos. Denver has been lining up interviews with defensive coordinators, pointing to Evero not being back. In addition to the Vikings, Evero would be a top target for the Rams if DC Raheem Morris lands the Colts' head coach job.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Panthers have requested to interview Denver defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero for the same position.

Evero previously interviewed for Carolina's head coaching position and reportedly impressed enough to be brought back in for an interview for their defensive coordinator position. Minnesota were reportedly is looking to interview Evero for their defensive coordinator vacancy as well but the Broncos didnt grant the NFC North franchise permission. It will be interesting to see Denver's response to Carolina after denying Minnesota the interview.

Eagles signed OL coach Jeff Stoutland to a contract extension.

The longest tenured coach on the Eagles, Stoutland spent 2022 as Philly's run-game coordinator in addition to the offensive line, ranking fourth in the NFL in rushing yards per game (147.6) and leading the league in rush TDs (32). There was offensive coordinator interest in Stoutland this coaching cycle, but he'll return with the Eagles for an eleventh season. Extending Stoutland could help OL Jason Kelce's chances of returning in 2023.

This seems bs. The Broncos are interviewing people other than Evero for their DC job and blocking Evero from interviewing with others.

Cowboys announced Brian Schottenheimer as new offensive coordinator.

Schottenheimer was signed to the team in March 2022 as an offensive consultant, charged with working with the offensive coaching staff in a game-planning role. He now gets the in-house promotion following the departure of Kellen Moore for a franchise that continues to commit to a run-balanced offense. This move should continue that trend after Schottenheimer ran the league's most run-heavy offense during his time in Seattle.

didnt he get the ass from Seattle a while back?...

Yes, but that doesnt mean anything. Queen Russ didnt like any coordinator who wouldnt let him throw the ball 40 times a game. Russ was a far better player under Schottenheimer than he was under most of the other OCs.

4th go around as an OC tho, not the most inspiring hire.

This will be Schottenheimer's fourth offensive coordinator job in the NFL despite little tangible success in the role. Schottenheimer's offense was the downfall of Jets teams with vaunted defenses when he was the offensive coordinator in New York from 2006-2011. In three years with the Rams from 2012-2014, they never produced a top-20 offense by any metric. With Russell Wilson at his peak as a passer from 2018-2020, the Seahawks won just a single playoff game with Scotty as OC in that timeframe.

McCarthy is calling the plays anyway so it's pretty irrelevant and was never going to be a sexy hire.

Russ choked hard in the playoffs. Had nothing to do with Schott, he played terrible against GB and the Rams, the Rams have owned him for years now. See how bad he was against them this year for reference.

I guess the Vikings called up Roger about the Broncos shenanigans
But it happens all the time. any team can block another from interviewing any coach or FO staff unless its a promotion.

Denver just hadnt made up its mind on DC.

Theyre requesting permission to speak to others DCs for a DC job but were blocking their current DC from interviewing for other DC jobs? Sounds like being dickheads.

Yeah, completely different AD, they're keeping Evero hostage, with an outside possibility of missing out on a job entirely if everywhere gets filled and Denver take their sweet ass time and hire someone else in the end. How ridiculous would that be given the job he did last year.
