I don’t see why anyone is worried about his rumoured behaviour affecting him at the club, we don’t have any disabled players for him to pick on.

Clint Jones set a dwarf on fire towards the END of his career and we still love him.

I'm sure Arie will get a lesson in being a grown up and, if not, it only cost us pick 62
The true story is the Saints boys were lighting there own shirts on fire and the dwarf held his out to get lit. It was all mucking around and the Saints boys offered to pay the dwarf for the shirt.. He laughed and said no he asked for it.
The next day the dwarfs manager or partner found out and it escalated. Think it was the manager. Was told by the Saints welfare manager and he's very honest.

As I mentioned before, I can’t recall a draftee sliding on this level. Potentially going at 20 and getting picked up at 62. A few clubs chose to pass right before his pick too. In my opinion, you do that draft selection every time at pick 62. I can’t imagine Ross tolerating anything but professional conduct so I’m confident the professional environment will help. Just like it will help all of our other draftees.

Once again, we don’t know the facts or all the facts. I’m happy to reserve judgement until I see some evidence.
Can’t remember his name but didn’t a WA kid slide from the 1st round projection and go undrafted? Then got picked up by the Hawks the next year, quit and ended up in a jail.

You guys picked up possibly a generational talent at pick 62. Remember Sicily went at pick 56, Arie can already kick with range and precision like Shannon Hurn at 18.
We’re going to put him in to ruck.

Dayle Garlett.

Top 10 talent, but went at 38.

Dayle Gartlett.

Plenty of players have issues after the game - Lake, Fish, Carey, Jurrah etc

Others like Yarran, Cousins, Abblett Snr, Lovett, Angwin, JDG, Tarryn Thomas have problems while playing (and after)

Likely because of our very young drafting age, I am not aware of too many that have deep concerns before the draft.

Only comparisons I can really think of sliding are Jack Darling (slid from first to second round), Gartlett or Sydney Stack (overlooked completely then drafted a year later).

There was also Andrew Krakouer who Collingwood recruited after he did a stint in jail.

From memory Eddie McGuire falsely accused one of our supporters of racially abusing him at one of our games against Collingwood.

A classic case of the pot calling the kettle black there.

If he's smart he keeps his head down keeps his opinions to himself and follows Cam Wilkie everywhere for the next 6 months.

Put Mitch Owens on him early in preseason. That will knock the bully boy out of him.

And the other thing most likely not true
I heard he got shitfaced and didn’t realise he was bullying a special needs person.

He thought he was just having an animated conversation about pineapple on pizza with Greta Thunberg.

Pineapple on pizza indeed 😤

How Dare You Greta GIF

Players slide all the time, draft isn’t perfect heck 17 teams passed on Jack Sinclair, Wilkie and Marshal.

Exactly.

Club had a feeling this would happen which is why they were willing to let Gresh and Billings go.

Oh gawd - the irony of some of the self righteous indignation on this thread.

Moving on - potentially a very good trade and draft period for the club. Clearly focused not just on pace but pace with skills. Most of the late draftees seem to have significant upside, so you can understand why they were selected. Angus Hastie could be the big surprise.

Not sure if our quota is filled but I think we will be looking closely signing James Stewart as additional tall defensive back up.

Overall no real surprises - other than the fact for a supposedly shallow draft year, clubs still managed to draft 64 players.

On a side note - cheers to all the late draftees who not only had the uncertainty of whether they will get drafted or not but to have absolutely no idea where in the country you might end living a few days later must be very difficult.
