Usually around 8 off the list every year, this year was 9. Will go early & say Allison & Campbell definately off the list next year
Well, if they don't perform of course. But yeah, usually about 8-10 a year.

With the arrival of Hastie and Bonner, do we push Windy back into the midfield now after gaining some confidence in halfback at the end of the season?

I think we do, or play him in a Sinclair-like role where it's a mix of the two.

The goal needs to be eventually getting him here full-time.

its very hard to disagree with the suggestions in this article. the only thing i disagree with is the attitude towards north and west coast.
These AFL hacks all come out now once the draft is complete.
Whately sat stoney silent when RL and Chris Scott discussed the compromised draft on AFL 360.
They are just mouthpieces for the AFL, will pursue the obvious in hindsight without looking at the abject corruption of Laura Kane going straight to the AFL from North and signing off on multiple pick gifts.

Joke of an article from Whateley.

Overall very happy with our draft hall. Excited by Collard but do fear he will return to WA as soon as he can. Hopefully he loves it if Melbs as he is want we need. Hugo Gracia we don’t know much about but have to back in the recruitment team. Possibly could have gone another tall at this pick or ruck , Arie looks good and at 194cm but doesn’t appear to play like a KPP.

Interesting list out of contract next year. It would be good to sign Phillipou, Battle and Sharman asap.

The rest are either approaching 30 and out of our preferred age demographic, who need to show they are worth keeping around in the short term, or young/fringe players who haven't locked down a spot in our best 22.

Tend to agree on Collard.Maybe our team can start on upping their negotiation skills now and remember what we paid when dealing with Fremantle, even the Jamie Cripps deal was soft.

I love the look of Collard. Was watching a few packages today. If he can overcome being away from family I reckon he could be anything. Livewire forward with perhaps the ability to rotate in the midfield as he develops.

There’s an interview on the herald sun site at the end of night one of the draft with Arie and his parents. There’s also an article that covers his time playing seniors when he was suspended and how he responded. Sounds like he had a rough patch himself after the suspension, pulled his head in and learnt a bit about himself.

I hope he’s a 10 year player for us and becomes part of the saints next premiership and joins the ranks of our Tassie legends.
