I've never seen anyone have him that high. The rumours are that the Dogs want Nick Watson which makes more sense, he looks alike an elite small forward. If McKercher somehow fell to their pick I can imagine that they'd have a look though. Sanders would be a weird choice for them too.
Was in the Herald Sun over the weekend

Recruiters are convinced there are 8-10 excellent prospects in this year’s draft, but the talent drops off in the double-digit range.

West Coast is very happy to take Tongala goal kicker Reid at pick one, leaving speedy playmaker Colby McKercher and outside midfielder Zane Duursma for North.

Hawthorn likes small forward Nick Watson and Western Bulldogs are eyeing gun midfielder Ryley Sanders, leaving star goal kicker Nate Caddy for Melbourne.

Highly-touted Western Australian key defender Daniel Curtin could slide to GWS Giants, although the Giants are well-stocked for key defenders, prompting clubs to eye a potential pick swap with GWS.

Geelong also likes 193cm Caddy, who can play forward and through the midfield, although he would have to slide to their chance after the Giants.

But generally clubs are not keen to slide back in the draft order as the bulk of the top talent is inside 10

A mid-sized Tasmanian utility is emerging as a potential top-10 bolter for next month’s national draft after impressing in a range of positions across the second half of the season.
James Leake is believed to be firmly in the sights of clubs including Melbourne (pick 6), Greater Western Sydney (pick 7) and Geelong (pick 8).

Rivals believe that St Kilda (pick 13) also likes Leake, but growing interest means he is unlikely to slip to that selection.

The 187cm prospect, who hails from Launceston, featured as an intercept defender for the Allies at the under-18 national championships in the middle of the year.

However, he also showed plenty as a forward and midfielder in the back end of the Coates Talent League season with the Tasmanian Devils.

Leake booted 12 goals across three games for the Devils after being swung forward mid-season.

He then played as a midfielder in the Devils’ preliminary final loss to the Eastern Ranges, racking up 21 disposals, three clearances and kicking two goals to put an exclamation mark on his campaign.

If Leake moves into the top 10 that will shake things up. Interesting that Hawthorn like Watson, given they just recuited Ginnivan. You would think Curtin would be a better fit for them?

I wonder where Caddy will end up, he is another under sized key forward who I think is being a bit over rated.

Maybe if we had a late pick, but there should be better available with what we have.

Don't think he would be mentioned as someone we should look at at if he didn't speak about us (in a bizarre way) in an interview.
I thought it was strange too, but I guess growing up in WA as a Saints fan can't have been much fun post 2010.

I’d rather not draft any Tasmanian players if there’s another player available from the same tier. Maybe I’m just being paranoid, but I could see the AFL’s concessions for the new TAS team opening up access to local players on existing lists.

He actually looks quite good too. Don't mind Leake.

Caddy is one of those guys that could be anything from Curnow to a not quite inbetweener.

I can see Caddy slipping. I wouldn't want him personally.

I would be happy to grab him. He's had an indifferent year but he was tracking top 4 early on. Pretty good Membrey replacement. He can potentially play some midfield as well. if he works out he's potentially a cross between the good bits of Jake Stringer and Curnow.

I suppose evaluating which are the good bits of Stringer might depend on one's age.

Sorry.

Yeah, I’m not sure Caddy has had a great year. But he does have some unbelievable traits and Curnow was a bit the same in his draft year. I’d just rather not take the chance and think it’s 100-1 he is at our pick anyway.

Again he is not a list need - I dont think he would be any better than Membrey, Sharman, Owens or Hayes.

Im not big on chasing delisted players from other clubs but Patrick VOSS 20yo 194-195cm key position player is someone I would seriously look at! Essendon continually tried him as a CHF but for me is the classic CHB, with a big frame and nasty streak. He won their B&F this year he would be the perfect backup key defender for us! I desparately wanted him in his draft year - get him training with the club SOS, delist Highmore if we have to and offer him a spot.

1. K.Windsor
2. C.Edwards
3. C.Simpson, would be good gets.

Windsor would be sensational but is being touted as a possible top 10 pick now. I like the Edwards and Simpson picks and think we could also consider DeMattia with our first.

I found this phantom draft on the drafts BF site and believe its the best Ive seen at balancing club needs and best available -

Note: In that phantom that both ruckman Edwards and Goad slid through to after our 3rd pick I wouldnt be unhappy with either, but Mitch Edwards has real forward potential and his marking and ruck craft is superior.

Yeah, would be good if Heath & Van Es could step up this season, Heath could put on another 3kg this pre-season to get him to 100kg. See him as getting to 105kg, eventually.
Van Es, already a good size, just needs to refine his craft.
I also hope Moose can grab a few games next year but Van Ess I'm sot so sure.

My read of the list management is a 2 year plan starting now. In that time Windy, Nas, Chito and Pou should all be on 70-95 games whilst Moose and VEss will hopefully be getting towards 20 games.
We've sured up the middle bracket with Dow and Clark whilst the youngn's develop and squeeze them out over that time.
