There are going to be a few 2023 Saints looking over their shoulders to maintain their position in the side next year.

Dow vs Clark
Henry vs Byrnes
Webster & Stocker vs Bonner & Hastie
Higgins/Butler vs Collard & Garcia.
Battle vs Shoenmaker
Caminiti vs Keeler & Hayes
Membrey vs Sharman
Hill vs Wilson & Hotton
Howard vs Van Es
Paton (not 1st 23) vs McLennan

I also think Sinclair may move to full time mid, which would probably replace Greshams position..

Obviously some of the senior players are monty's, but it will be nice to see some list depth and pressure on spots.

McLennan looks to have done the work in the off season also.

Brad Hill is so important to the culture at the club for our young indigenous players! When ever he retires the club has to keep him on in some form of development role, he will be vital.

Not too many of them named first would be too worried ATM, i can see plenty of upside from the second named group but im not expecting Clark or Byrnes to improve much , Barring injury Byrnes will be lucky to get a game

Look at Brad Hill back with the kids, nearing 30, doesn't need to be back for three weeks, leading the way for the young players.
Absolute role model, lucky to have him at the club especially with young Collard on the way.

pre kids brad and post kids brad feels like he's a completely different person

Spot on, when you’ve got kids you’d rather be anywhere than home. 😂:D

Agree re Clark & Byrnes both will struggle to get games next year.

Time will tell on the others I guess, although you might be pleasantly surprised. If Sinclair moves into the midfield that will open up a position, which I believe we recruited Bonner to fill. Stocker & Webster are more the defensive small stoppers than attacking runners. Caminiti is no garuantees if Keeler or Hayes get going. RTB loves Sharman, so Membrey will have to be playing his best footy not to be under pressure. Hill is an important link player but Im sure the club would love to see him more dangerous in front of goals. Perhaps he rotates through a wing to give Wilson HFF minutes ala Phillipou this year.

Granted the others are probably a little off development wise, but all it will take is an injury or two and opportunity opens the door for some players to step up.

A few of these lads are a year minimum away from seniors. It is encouraging to see the potential in the next gen though.

I wasn't referring to fan base. I was referring to the importance of the club keeping him connected to country and connected to family no matter now many Aboriginal players are around him. His culture from his mob will be totally different.

He’s meant to be related to Brad Hill which should help. Having a cousin or uncle around would be pretty handy.

Not sure on Dow's contract
