Pick 3 for Frawley was fine IMO. First round pick for an AA (premiership) player who was one of the best in a struggling side with very little talent.

McKay is potato, from memory North have a lot more talent that the Dees did back then.

Yeah, youve convinced me, I'm happy to blame dodgy Laura. Absolute cheating scum.

The fact that North receive pick 3 for 25 year old McKay who will be on 800k a year with Essendon when Hawthorn received only pick 19 for a 26 year old Lance Franklin who had just been offered a $10 million contract over 9 years with the Swans. Tells you everything you need to know with what's wrong with Free Agency compensation.

Jay Clark reporting that West Coast want to keep 1 and pick Reid unless North offer 2 and 3 (which is possible but could also easily be posturing to get the best possible trade for pick 1).

More interesting is the suggestion that North want McKercher 2 and Duursma 3, then Watson expected to go either 4 or 5 followed by Sanders. Presumably someone bids on Walter and GC match in the top 5.

Do we take Curtin in that scenario?

Why would North take even more midfielders?

What they should be looking to do is trade down for O Sullivan or Caddy if they don’t take Curtin.

They will have top talented mids playing in the 2s while there backline gets slaughtered.

That said would be super happy to take Curtin, kid is a jet.

Surely.

If that's how it plays out then yes. He's definitely in the top 6 and suits a need.

Worst outcome for us is that Watson falls to 6.

Future third for Harmes

Knew that fella Lamb was gearing up for some big trades
They're taking 500k off our books that would have been wasted at Casey.

So far we have lost Jordan and Harmes and brought in a pick in the 40s and a pick in the 50s.

Our list is weaker than it was 2 days ago. Hope we turn this around

With Tim Lamb, unlikely.

Lost a little depth. Both weren't the difference in winning a future flag. Getting their $$ off the books is most likely a win.

I wouldnt say that. In my opinion we just unloaded our two worst ball users on our list in Jordon and Harmes. And opened up an opportunity for Blake Howes, who I think offers far more upside then either of those 2 imho.

Only a win if we have somewhere to spend it. Having it sit in the bank isn’t going to win us any flags.

Feels like we are just being picked away at a bit at the moment for **** all return.

You can't just save the money and do nothing with it. You just restructure someone elses deal to pay them a bit more earlier and use that extra cap space later.

Not sure how that helps us in 2024, in our window.
Not sure how holding onto list cloggers who are rotting away at Casey helps us next year either.
