Where did this Haynes salary dump talk come from

Has been reported in the media (not the Pick 7 stuff though, to my knowledge).

The Melbourne involvement though? Demonland.

Anyone hearing that Petty may be boohooing home to Adelaide for 10, 20 and McAdam. Some talk of Melbourne wanting Fogarty coming back.

Also Dees apparently in to the GWS pick 7 for taking on the Haynes salary dump to use to trade up.

Not so keen on losing Petdog unless he is lisfrucked but hopefully we do something!

Haynes isn't the same player as his AA year, I would be wary. He has slowed down a lot - but it seems we have cap space.

Did you not see him give us a bath last year? He was starting to execute on that level more consistently in 2023 and will continue on that trajectory in 2024.

Him and JvR will provide structure we need for next 10-12 years.

I don't judge player off one game, tend to look at their entire work. No doubt he has some upside and room to grow but far too often he chokes in front of goal in a big moment and goes missing all together, not for me.

He's also plays far closer to his 84 kgs than his 194cms, I don't see him as a key forward, plays more like a really poor man's Fritsch.

I don't think the Giants have the same cap issues as GC had though, after clearing Taranto and Hopper last year.

Haynes will likely go, but doubt they attach a premium pick to it. Their list management is far more competent than the Suns'.

Yeah the dump has been reported lightly but North were the ones looking at it.

No mention of P7 or Dees is my understanding.

Not in the media just doing the rounds - 99% of these are false so not holding out any hope but could be an interesting play if GWS are actually in cap trouble.

I honestly think it's a really good idea, good reason for Haynes drop off last year and that problem seems sorted, think he could absolutely contribute for us for a few years. Could bring him in and extend him by mid year if everything is going well for a lot less than he's on. if not you've gained a pick and his contract is done after this year.

Very much a nothing to lose scenario, and I like nothing to lose scenarios.
