If Haynes came into the best 22, at 31 years old, who would be going out of that back six? Or is the idea here only to get Pick 7 and use him as back up ? If this was a real offer ?

Salem. 👋

Yeah, don't imagine we make that move without something else cooking. Perhaps a further shift up the order.

Did we just get boned?

That being said, with the Grundy compo still to come, we might not have been planning to use all those picks anyway

After Gresham compo and 5 academy players 27 = 33 and 35 = 41

Ok. I feel slightly less bad about trading two second rounders to move up 3 spots. Still seems a bit of an overpay.

Won't be surprised if this is the deal to help us get North's pick 3.

Give: 6 and 11
Get: 3 and 15

North trade 2 and 6 for pick 1 and take Reid, WC take Curtain. We get our target at 3 and another good player. Might even bundle 15 with some other picks to get that one higher too.

Not quite that simple as some of the picks before those will be absorbed by academy bids, but regardless, they're not super valuable for us.

Are you ******* kidding. 27 & 35 to move up 3 spots? Sure its easy to just say oh they arent fantastic picks but petty who were all very attached to was pick 35, Rivers was something along those lines, Taylor has time and time again nailed those picks, so we cleared Harmes, JJ, Grundy and have tons of cap space and heaps of roster spots, we better have something good cooking coz if we literally just did that to move up 3 spots we will all melt like an ice cream on a summers day. I will wait and see what we do next but **** me

That's a huge win if we can get that thru.

Typical Melbourne trade where we give up what looks like a little too much on the first part. Judge it on whatever we turn pick 11 into.

Could be trades in play, but the talk has been for ages that we only really care about the top 20 or so in this draft.

Overreaction, 1 it's a weak draft class and 2, James Jordon and Fraser Rosman were in that range too. It's no sure thing.

If we turn every pick we had in this draft for pick 3, which is a 3 pick upgrade, when theres very little diff between 3 and 6 and no guarantee that the player will be better at pick 3 than at pick 6, that is not a huge win it is pure incompetence. Either you make a move for a win now guy or you just load up on young guys, doing the in-between move is ridiculous. Now we've offloaded all our midfield depth, might be an idea to actually replace some of it.

Would rather we upgrade at the top end and trade out at the bottom end.

Wait for the puzzle to be completed before you go off the deep end.

It might well be, ill reserve final judgement for the end result but from all counts theres little difference between someone at 2 like Mckercher or Duursma and someone at 6 like Sanders or Curtain. Anyways i g2 get some work done, finding it very hard to have faith in Tim Lamb...
