Think its worse than the dogs deal for 4 tbh. At least theirs made sense and they got inside a bid for Croft and got into tier 1 with their deal. If our deal gives us Reid or someone similarly good its prob ok but if the deal was done as a stand alone deal its absolutely horrendous.

Trading away picks we have no intention of using to get a pick to accommodate other clubs in a trade for a top liner is hardly horrendous.

We have 4 list spots free after Mcadam and Fullerton unless im wrong there. Thats 6 + 14 + 27 + 35 so how exactly did we have no intention of using them?

If we give him one of those stupid long contracts we like handing out and his foot falls off, we're in a world of shit. Viney's the only one with foot issues we seems to have survived and that's probably because his muscles are stronger than bones or some weird shit.

Again, no real point in evaluating this trade until the period is over. Doubt we take 11 to the draft.

Patience grasshopper. Youre putting the cart before the horse.

the pick 14 for pick 11 plus 2x 2nd rounders is a howler.
Just some perspective, a three pick upgrade can mean the difference between getting Max Holmes and Bailey Laurie. Would you trade two second rounders to do that deal?

Trying to stay calm but at face value Dees look to have lost out on all trades so far. Feels very Melbourne.
Every year it looks like this, then by the end we have flipped the picks into something good. I trust this is what we are doing again this year.

If we were in west coast position would we expect 6 and 11 and future 1st for 1 Harley Reid? I‘d say no.

I'm often critical of the club, but how is losing out on trades 'very Melbourne? Our recent trading history, for the most part, has been fantastic.

The major trades of recent times involving Hogan, May, Lever, Hunter, Langdon, Jackson, Watts (Fritsch), Hibberd and trading up to draft players like Oliver and Pickett have all been pretty damn good results.

We took Sam Weideman at pick 9. Charlie Curnow went at 12. Would you trade Charlie Curnow and 2 second rounders for Sam Weideman. Just some perspective the other way.

Sure and if we picked a dud at 11 and 14 turns out to be a star you'd be right but maybe we have our eye on someone specific we don't think would be there at 14.

Not a chance Wes Coast do that deal, think its far more likely we are trying to get to pick 3 and a pick in the 8-10 range
Not even sure North will trade 3. Their offer for pick 1 didn't even include either 2 or 3.

Yep you are correct. But more chances of getting someone good in the early teens than the second round picks we shipped off that we weren't going to use anyway.

Honestly think we are going to flip 11 anyway.

Yup. Would rather sell a parcel of land for McKercher/Duursma/Curtin than the entire farm for Reid.

Makes sense for Norf if they dont get a trade for Reid done imo. Take Curtain at 2 if West Coast dont want to move, trade 3 coz they are keen on Sanders and can get him at 6. Pick up another pick in the process.

They already have 6 picks in the top 25. I don’t think they need another.

Pick 6 & 11 or a F1 isn't exactly pick 25, likely another pick with 3 would be coming back our way in such a trade anyway

Get the feeling we have more in play.

We have moved fast to clear cap space interestingly. Who is it for?
Make Tom Hawkins an offer he can’t knock back
