I know Melbourne wanted Tom Lynch way back when and Gold Coast got in one pick before Melbourne to take him, so Melbourne went for Lucas Cook :embarrassedv1:

Ah yes, remember that fondly, such a panic pick, had their heart set on Lynch so took another KPF who had no business being taken that early

I remember desperately wanting Darling, but lord knows he too would've been a disaster with the state our FD was in at that point.

Strangely, talk of a lot of off field incidents were brought up in the media about Darling before the draft. A lot of people reckon it was the Eagles leaking it so he would fall to them. If so, masterful 4D chess.

Yeah. West Coast faked Darling getting king hit outside a pub and fracturing his skull!

It wasn't just that, I remember talk of drugs and him being an alcoholic at 18

Yeah don't think you can fake a skull fracture would be easy to test for. Pretty sure they just made him sound like a loose campaigner who wouldn't train properly

Yeah I remember that also, said he was a lazy campaigner who didnt have the drive to get better, was only beating up on kids coz his body was more developed as an under 18.

Apparently more likely to stay now that Dew is gone, but absolutely would have a crack. Wonder if their need for points helps our case?

I think we're definitely a chance to get their first pick for an exchange of multiple picks, someone on BF posted the points difference and it would definitely make sense for GC. Getting Flanders as well will be a bit more tricky

Really want Nick Watson. Will most likely have the strongest immediate impact for us to kick off the '24 season and can definitely see him flourish alongside Kozzie inside our forward 50.

Another dangerous elite small would also alleviate the pressure off Kozzie and could make an amazing dynamic duo. Plus, we need more strong avenues to goal.

Twomey's first phantom form guide for the year.

If we're picking between 4-6, I'd love Duursma or McKercher. Desperately need to get a young gun mid in that can impact games early, but more importantly lead our midfield in the future.

Watson is intriguing for sure, but a pick that high on a 170cm small forward, regardless of talent, seems a big risk.

Please no KPPs with the first pick 🤞

King Cuck Sam McClure saying Harley Reid has told WC he doesn't want to be drafted there.

What a courageous decision from Harley Reid. Ken Hinkley would be proud.

Better for West Coast that Reid says it now rather than "im home sick" after being there for one year. Can auction pick 1 off for the best price rather than only being able to deal with clubs he would name as teams hes interested in next year.

I dont follow the draft stuff, are you still thinking he's worth trading up for? (Assuming trading up means 3x First Rounders)

Sure. Freo's first this year is a good pick but our own firsts are hardly anything fantastic. Thats why I reckon Hawthorn are a better chance of getting him, their own future picks are worth more than ours

Not untrue, just remembering a time where kids were just over the moon to be drafted and living out their dream.

Would Hawks potentially give up both this year and next years first for Reid? They'd want to be pretty confident about jumping up the ladder.
