Correct me if I’m wrong but we might start with King as he’s a free agent, but if that doesn’t work (or if he has another poor year) we will use the Petty picks and whatever else we’ve got to trade for Jamara.

I find it crazy that people don't understand salary caps and finances here. Good flag sides stayed together and built because lots of people took unders. Meanwhile we wanna have Oliver Trac and then a million dollar a season key forward aswell. That'd be the end of us trading players in for about 5 years cause our cap would be blown

I have no intel here btw - I’m just calling what I can see playing out.

That said, I’m also a Jamara fan so would be happy if we managed to orchestrate that outcome.

Don’t forget that there’s more money in the cap now and it’s growing year on year. Big names like Petracca, Gawn and Oliver would be consulted before bringing in a massive contract so as to not upset the group - they will also be the ones who benefit most in the year before we bring a big new contact in.

If we do actually have a big crack at Jamara then it’s mostly about how good to we think he could be and how important to further success. Personally I can see him being one of the next players in the competition when he hits that 25 years old mark.

It makes sense considering we just missed out on a flag due to having to play Tmac.

He will be a marque player who will also sell merch.

People keep complaining about out ball use going inside 50 but I am not seeing any valid suggestions here how to fix

We missed because of both. Kidding yourself if you think it’s one or the other. We booted 17 behinds many from easy positions.

We have 2 clear issues.

1. Our forward line is shit and we have no proper lead up forwards or anyone with proper forward craft to create space or even kick a set shot

2. Our midfield can’t hit the side of a barn.

We need to solve for both, I keep seeing a lot of people harp on about point 2 here without suggesting any solutions.

Point 1 can be solved by injecting a bloke like JUH into our forward line.

I agree with you, but be interesting to know (We never will) how much money from Trac/Oliver/Brayshaw we could bring forward to 2024 to help our cap.

Feels like a real cross roads trade and draft period. Go one more time around Gawn, May, Petty(?) by trading in and/or drafting for now (trade up for the best single pick we can get) or draft for the back end of Viney, Trac, Oliver, Lever’s careers and hit the draft with multiple solid picks now. I think we need to have one more crack with Gawn and May still showing patches of AA form.

I'm not sure why you're so big on slightly built, flaky lead-up forwards who will struggle to get a kick with how we move the ball.

If having a lead-up KPF was all we needed to change the way we move the footy, Ben Brown would've done that for us already. Instead, we continued to send the ball to the moon going inside 50, rendering him completely useless.
