Ive said my nightmare fuel is us going full tHe MeLbOuRnE wAy and selecting two "competitors"

Just stay put and take Windsor. If we are giving up next years first to trade up for Sanders I might end up going full Mich0 yet.

Sanders will be a dead set jet. Type of player you want to be spending a top pick on.

Don’t worry we will get back into first round next year when Petty leaves.

Probably get hawks F2 as part of the trade also.

Inside mid 🤮...the last position we need and easiest players to find.

Not easy to find good ones. We have **** all under the age of 25 who can play the role.

If we don’t restock now we will end up having to play a starting midfield similar to Couch, Magnum and Maloney again once we have a few retirees.

My McKercher dream isn't dead yet
For what it's worth I managed to get you McKercher over on the Eagles Board's Mock Draft.
At your 2nd pick at 44 I've just missed out on Hastie and Morris (blah).
As I've selected McKercher for you already would you prefer Visentini, Weatherill or a small?

I'm 99% sure this is not happening, don't ask me how!

What good ones have we found which wasn’t a top 10 pick recently?

Plenty of clubs have found gun inside mids late in drafts or the rookie draft. Finding class users on the outside (which is exactly what we are lacking) is much harder and are rarely found late. Taking Sanders doesn't move the needle. If we had traded Oliver we could have a conversation about taking Sanders but we didn't.

We haven't needed to because we way overspent in the draft on it already

Not to mention how much of our cap we already have dedicated to inside mids. The balance is already completely out of whack without needing to blow another top 10 pick (and potentially next year's if we were trade up) on the exact area we have so much money invested in.

We will probably pay Windsor and Sanders the same so cap is irrelevant.

We also got Woewodin who can play wing. How many god damn wingmen do we want running around in our 2s.

Ahh that’s why we drafted Sparrow, Jordan and Laurie than right? And brought in Dunstan. Because we haven’t needed any.

These blokes (or what’s left of them) are going to really going to stand up against a midfield of LDU, Thomas, Wardlaw, Sheezal, Mckercher, Phillips for the next decade.

We don’t even know if Brayshaw and Oliver are going to be right to play next year, and Viney is coming into his twilight years and we need Trac up forward while we run around with Woewodin, Howes and Windsor all running the wings in the 2s.

Langdon is 28 by the time the season starts, Hunter turns 29 soon.

Woewodin is unproven at best.

Not exactly sure how you're trying to make the case we have more than enough wingers/outside players?

I'm not opposed to adding another onballer but it would need to be the right one, such as Reid, McKercher or Leake.. they need more strings to their bow than just being strictly an inside mid like Sanders.

The Roos have got a great balance on paper there if they all live up to what many believe they are. Talk to 2010 Melbourne tho, early picks don't necessarily translate into winning. They haven't shown the ability to develop or retain talent.

We need more KPPs esp, defenders and a forward. not wingers/mids.

If we're looking at our current 21 and under list demographic we really need A graders across every line, hence why I think most are happy to just go for best available this year.

Don’t get me wrong, I rate Windsor. Just not at pick 6. Top end of draft is for your future stars who can lead your club forward and play high impact positions/roles.

We picked up decent wingmen with a pair of F3rds for Billings and Hunter. We don’t need to be burning a pick 6 for someone to play this role.

With Langdon/Hunter/Billings/Brayshaw/Woewodon and Howes all capable of playing the wing, seems bizarre it is the are we want to invest further into. We will just end up with more redundant blokes out at Casey to go along with Tmac / BBB and Shache as list cloggers.

Not necessarily. Whilst it is true that A graders are needed ultimately it is the grit and sandpaper players that are at times the more valuable.

E.G. Nick Reiwoldt needs a Fraser Gherig more than the G-train needs Rooey.

Jordon played his best footy on the wing, Dunstan barely got a game, Laurie was drafted as a half forward, Sparrow hasn't been able to develop as a starting inside mid cause we play the same old ahead of him at centre bounces so we shoehorn him in as a half forward.

Hardly indisputable proof of the need for another inside mid Mich0

Don't care if Curtin says he will just ask go come home, if he is best available then just take him. Try and get the many other WA boys to settle him in, or throw boobs at him and hope some stick. Worst case scenario would be a rinse and repeat of the Luke Jackson scenario, but I want another key defender.
