We could have had a list spot if we traded Petty and his bum foot.

Or stamped the papers for BBB or T-Mac.

Or didn't resign Melksham to rehab his knee for a year and not play at all during 2024.

Or got rid of Joel Sniff with the suspension cloud looming over him.

Or delist one of Schache or Laurie for being no-good at AFL level.

The Curtin/Leake combo excited me. But I do like the look of Tholstrup.

Looking at the videos of these two players, we got two good young kids. Time will tell if Curtin or Leake will come back to bite us, but we got a kid who can hit targets in the F50, and another tough bull of a high forward. Both are needs. I would have liked a key back like Curtin or O'Sullivan, but it is what it is. JT has runs on the board, and with still a decent list and a good development program, we're giving these kids a good chance of success. But geez our tall stocks look paper thin.

Having talked with someone who did phantom drafts in the past, it’s not Melbourne who is leaking about what they will do.

The recruiters ask the players “Which teams have interviewed you?”.

That tells them which clubs have some level of interest which they need to know to work out what oick they may need to trade up to so they can get their preferred player.

Someone like Twomey would ask Richmond “Who are Melbourne interested in?” and vice versa.

He also talks with the players and he’d ask them which teams interviewed the player.

Then it’s just a matter of putting the pieces of the puzzle together along with the draft picks that team have to work out what’s likely to happen.

You can be sure I will bring it up MANY MANY times in the future if Curtin and Leake become stars.

Crows got a gun! Nailed it. One that will haunt us like the Dusty miss i reckon. Time will tell, but this kid looks a jet. Really disappointed we didn't pull the trigger on him. Huge miss IMO.

He was a rookie pick im pretty sure wasn't he? No one ever melts over rookie picks.
