Hello. If Brodie Grundy leaves , would a trade for Hayden McClean appeal? Would you have to do a pick swap as well do you think,
I.e Grundy, future 3rd for Maclean, future 4th

Yeah I'd absolutely do that. McLean is a much better fit for us than Grundy. Decent up forward, only needs to be a 15-20% ruck.

Not to mention McLean would be on about half the coin of Grundy.

Remembering what Port did in the 2018 draft, I’d love to see what JT would do with these picks this year.

But at the same time every draft is different as is every crop. Just would be cool to see JT let rip with lots of high draft picks in a premiership window.

There is no way I'm trading Grundy for that.
Interesting – why's that? We traded pick 27 for Grundy a year ago, and his value would've likely diminished since.

McLean is just about to come into his prime, can take a good contested grab and is a handy relief ruck. Would imagine he'd easily fetch an early-mid second rounder in the open market.

Grundy is obviously the big name, but he comes with a bloated contract and is now three years past his best form. Couldn't imagine us being able to flip him for a net-profit in terms of picks/players.

Pretty much what we did in 2019 Jackson, Kozzy, Rivers

Re Grundy

Would WC be an option??

Dees are wanting the #1 pick by reports and have 2 first rounders in back pocket to use

WC receive Grundy, Pick 4 (Freo), 17, 36
Melb receive Pick 1, 53 & 57

WC ain't taking that deal Grundys worth about pick 30

Let's say you're correct and Grundy is worth about pick 30, in that trade scenario above, from a purely points perspective it works out like this:

WC receive - 4, 17, 30, 36 - 4190 points
MFC receive - 1, 53, 57 - 3415 points

That works out as West Coast coming out ahead with the equivalent of pick 25.

They would be silly not to

Grundy takes the #1 Ruck spot and they move down 3 picks to grab a WA player at 4
Yeah go propose that on the WC board and see how many likes ya get 👍

BF need to make it mandatory for posters to show real photo of themselves to back up their smartar#e posts
It used to be a rule that you used your real name on here but only one person was kind enough to follow that one :nerdv1:

JT is primed to blow an early pick by reaching for an Augustus Brayshaw type, following that up by using a mid FRP on a KP prospect in the Weid mould and then blow his load with the late FRP on a kid that has no weapons at AFL level like Laurie.

I doubt you would get Grundy agree to move to the Weagles. I can't see him wanting to uproot his life to play for the wooden spooner.

West Coast would have to be absolutely making out like bandits on any deal outside of swapping 1 for North's 2.

Two top 10 picks would be just the starting point. And if a player was to be involved they'd have more use for someone like Brayshaw than an expensive ruckman.
