FWIW, as much as a Reid fan as I am, I personally wouldnt give up 4 & 5 for him. Thats too much.

But hey, if the club decided to do it who am I to argue, Id still be happy enough with getting the best player in the draft class. Fantastic spot we are in heading into the offseason, genuine chance to get much better no matter what we decide to do. Very much like 2019 but we are a top 4 team not a bottom 2 team.

I wouldn't do 4 and 5 either. If you can add 2 young kids that high in the draft as future mids who can play half forward to replace Spargo and Jordan we look so so much better

Yeah nah, not sold on it. Could be another Cam Rayner in the big league for all we know or one ACL away from a few years off.

I can tell you aren’t sold on pick 1 either hence why you are here trying to offload P1

I'm not offloading anything.

Just discussing options.

Reported earlier in the year Dees were keen to have a crack but noone thought they would have the picks.

Freo crapping the bed now you might.

That's all.

I'm torn between using pick 1 and splitting.

Luckily you've got a lot of time between now and the draft to decide what YOU want to do.

We'll get our negotiator danster to send you an offer when we are ready.

Just like the modern day political Left, The Clique doesn’t always get it wrong.

Going to agree with you gentlemen here. With 4 & 5 we could probably add a classy goal-kicking mid (Duursma) and a dangerous x-factor small forward/potential Brent Harvey type (Watson) to our 22.

All eggs in Harley Reid basket works if it can be guaranteed he’s the next Dustin Martin, which they can’t.

Well obviously being so smart you'd realise we'd have to give away this year's draft hand to get Allen right? So we wouldn't work on our midfield
Not true. We will bring in Kynan Brown and potentially other midfielders, we would just be prioritising a key forward as our premium target.

We are the only team with two first round picks and two second round picks, and we have next year's 1st to consider as well. And I still reckon we're a great shout to do something with Gold Coast to help them get their points up, which could even include a midfielder like Hollands as well.

We have a strong enough hand to at least try and prise a top, top forward (Allen is my pick, Ben King & Naughten on my list too) and potentially still get a couple of mids in the national draft, even if later on.

Lol.

What part of 'Im not peddling anything' is difficult to understand?

No one on here has any direct involvement and its just 'chewing the fat' talking about what the people in charge may look at doing this trade period.

Find it strange when posters reply as you have. Its an internet forum with fans discussing potential drafts and potential trades. Nothing more.

And BTW the trade I posted was originally posted on the Eagles board by a Dees fan for what its worth Except with no F2nd coming back to your mob.

Interesting negotiating tactic...

All further enquiries have to go thru danster168 sorry, he's in charge of Melbourne list management and trades. I'm just a humble poster who has no power in what he does/we do

:p

(I really dont care, negotiate on, entertaining for me to watch you guys go at it)

Just wait til he gets straight in their eye and looks them in the ear.

You should come up with a suitable trade for pick 1 for our Eagle friend Johnny, the Collingwood fans really liked your ideas last offseason. :moustache:

West Coast need a natural successor to Nic Naitanui so 2 x All Australian Brodie Grundy would be a good fit. We can also potentially offer two premiership forwards in Tom McDonald and Ben Brown. However the Eagles would want to give something back but can see our best 22 in 24 being:

B: McVee - May - Brayshaw
HB: Bowey - Lever - Salem
C: Langdon - Oliver - Rivers
HF: Petracca - Petty - Hunter
F: ANB - JVR - Fritsch
R: Gawn - Viney - Pickett
I: Grundy - Hewett - Sparrow - Reid
Sub: Chandler

Kynan Brown is a bloke that we can get access to because he's rated so lowly it barely costs us anything.

Naughton? 🤣
Why not Nick Daicos and Charlie Curnow aswell?

Forgetting the fact wed burn all our draft picks on a key forward not sure we have the million dollars we'd need to go after one

1) Reid
2) McKercher
3) Walter
4) Sanders
————————
5) Watson
6) Curtain
7) Duursma

This is how I currently have them rated for us.

I wouldn’t use pick 4 on anyone outside of the top 4 I’ve listed so if we can’t trade up, then I’d rather we trade out of this draft and get as high up as possible next year.

Brown is probably a bit too old for us. Would Sam Weideman be available?

Ugh. Cam Pederson? Haven’t seen him in a while

If Pedo was still around he'd be perfect as the player we are looking for right now, someone who can play forward and pinch hit in the ruck, loved that guy, special place in my heart.

Lots of murmurs in last 18 months that Naughten wasn't that happy at the kennel. OOC next year too. Not as far-fetched as you might think. Our cap may prohibit it, that's fair.

Those murmurs are as believable as Oliver wanting to go to Carlton. Nuffy stuff.
