Why are we pretending players don't meet with clubs during the season? Grundy did it with us last year, as did Jackson with Freo. Lever did it with us just before Adelaide were playing finals too. Completely normal, even if it does seem unsavoury

Perhaps a bit of an overreaction here, my guy. Whether we like it or not, it's just the way the league operates now.

Optics aren't great, but it's just reality. If Gawn were to get injured, saying that we should jeopardise our flag chances out of principle is just silly.

Grundy won't play for Melbourne again barring a Gawn injury. If he does play, he'll be a professional.

Trade week starts not long after the grand final. I think whilst it’s not ideal for players to have their heads elsewhere, we have to accept it. You’d be more annoyed if it was a best 22 player I guess. Grundy’s manager would have been fielding calls no doubt.

Look, I get where you're both coming from. I'm just saying we can hardly take the high ground here as it's something we've certainly done with players before.

There are plenty of these meetings that don't make it to the media, too. All just part of the current climate, no use getting too worked up about one of our reserves players looking elsewhere.

Port as desperate AF for Grundy. He is a contracted player and we don’t need to free up cap for anything.

We should dig in and ask for F1. If trade period runs out and his still on our list then we go into 2024 with great depth and Port end up with egg for there face for being so public and not being able to get the deal done.
