Just to put it out there as his name has been mentioned by SA media - Would we consider Xavier Duursma as part of a trade deal for Grundy?

Good age profile for us, and could join his brother as a new Duursma in red and blue! ;)

Straight swap I would. May need to compete with Hunter for a wing role for 12-24 months but long term would work.

What’s the most senior games McAdam has ever played in a season?

And why didn’t he play many games this year?
Got suspended for three weeks, then was injured and found it hard to break back into the side. Kicked eight goals and averaged more than five tackles over his last three games though. Fairly handy player at his best

Hes been underwhelming and injury prone since his rookie season, would be an upgrade on James Jordon but not much else imo.

Geelong seems the obvious fit for Duursma with Smith retiring and the Ratugolea trade.

Yeah they talked about that being a possibility (although given they didn't even know he was still contracted I'm not sure on their mail):

SEN SA’s Kym Dillon believes Port’s Xavier Duursma could be the man involved in a Ratugolea deal.

“Duursma is out of contract – you have to give something to get something,” he said on Wednesday.

“I would strongly suggest Xavier Duursma would be going to Geelong to replace the retired Isaac Smith on the wing.”

Port Adelaide don’t have a first-round selection this trade period due to the Horne-Francis deal last year, with their first draft pick currently sitting at 37.

That alone could prove a stumbling block to a deal for Grundy, who has fallen out-of-favour quickly in his first year as a Demon sitting behind Max Gawn in the ruck stakes.

Fellow SA journalist Michelangelo Rucci suggested Scott Lycett could be another figure at play in a deal for Ratugolea, given the Cats are looking to shore up their ruck stocks.

“I would suggest he’d be in the deal as well,” Rucci said of Lycett.

Trade Whispers

If the fates have it that we draft Nick Watson and manage to snaffle Tom Lynch on a two year deal we would go into 2024 with a starting front six of:

McAdam JVR Watson
Fritsch Lynch Pickett

Oppo defences would sh1t dacks.

With Esasa nominating Port as his destination makes it more difficult for Port to offer any decent pick

I would take Duursma and give them back Grundy and Pick 24

That would be a shocking trade for us.

With Shane McAdam requesting a trade to Melbourne on Wednesday, Bickley also threw up a trade he believes could suit several parties.

“(Duursma’s) sister’s just moved over here. If he didn’t want to leave Adelaide, could it be Shane McAdam to Melbourne, Brodie Grundy to Port Adelaide and Xavier Duursma to Adelaide?” he added.

Just suggested on the trades forum, our 5 + 15 for north's pick 2

Interesting, would depend on how we rate the players

I'd do that. Doubt North would.

North would only do that if they can get Mckercher linked to their first
If they don't get Sanders for free could see it working. If they get pick 3 and Sanders from the AFL I don't know what an extra late first really does for them to entice them to downgrade.
