Last night made me really warm to the idea of taking Wizard Watson. Knowing how to kick goals is pretty key for us
I would be open to anything that improves our forward line, we can’t hit a target inside 50 so maybe a goal kicking small should be our target.

The fact that Kosi was our biggest aerial threat forward last night makes it clear having the agility and craft to compete in the air is more important than height and weight measurements.

If it takes drafting a midget at pick 5 for us to mount a total re-design on our game plan going inside 50 I think I'm ok with that.

Find a cheap tall forward who can compete and do 5 minutes a quarter in the ruck adequately and go into next year with Kosi, Fritsch and Watson as our main forward targets and goalkicking threats.

Me too.

Nate Caddy as well.

Both are clearly rated top ten picks.

If we can trade up for the Suns’ pick I wouldn’t be against using 4 & 5 on both of those two boys. Inject some immediate energy, excitement and goal kicking prowess into the side.

Add McAdam and we can totally re-stump and remodel our forward line while we have a midfield and backline that can contend.

Adelaide did it with their forward line bringing in Rachele, Rankine, drafting Fogarty, Thilthorpe and so on. They still have a few holes in their midfield but going forward they look bloody dangerous every time the prune goes in there.

Would John Noble be a better player on a HBF for us than Salem?

The other lesson I think last night showed us is giving up a whole bunch of picks to get Reid may be a bridge too far.

We have a number of holes in the list to fill. No matter how good Reid is, he's only one guy and we really need talented extra depth across most positions other than inside mid.

Hopefully some will come through trade but I'd like us to be taking 3 draftees at least with as high picks as possible. Getting pick 4 and keeping pick 5 looks a better play at this stage.

Spread of talent across the ground ✅
Lone Messiah ❌

Funny reading the WC supporters Draft/Reid thread. They’ve convinced themselves of exactly the opposite.

Yep excellent call.

He’s a pretty good player, but I haven’t seen enough to trust him as a reliable performer. Struggles to keep fit too, even with Burgess.

Would love us to get a key pillar in that we can structure things around, but i’m guessing we will run with Petty and Roo with an extra year’s development.

Agree with the above, we need more talent in. Big draft for JT. Depth drops off quickly when you’re good. Guys like Bedford and Hunt in your 20-30 range are more valuable than you realise.

The goss around is the aim is to have 3 top 20 picks. That won't change whether they end up getting Reid or not. Club wants to maintain the success long term despite what some nuffs have suggested about going all in with trades for older players. I'm sure there will be some free agent and player trade moves, we'll have more than 3-4 list spots to fill, but IMO they will be the bargain types ala Hunter.

Take it with a grain of salt but someone was saying on demonland that he blued with Burgess over his hamstring issues this year. Think the story was he was recovering and complained of tightness, burgo told him to push through and he redid it. Crows changed their 3 year offer back to a 2 year offer and he was so insulted he basically walked out.

Guess McAdam didn't pay attention to Oliver's hamstring issues this year if he thinks we're much better lol.

Pickett was awful. Dumb frees with low IQ and 2 costly easy misses. Needs to do the basics much better.
Just a kid in mental stakes. Still learning, while a lot is asked of him.

He tried harder than most... tried too hard. But Oliver... ????? Hhhhmmmnn...?

Did he try to not be where the ball was going to be.? Sooo often.?

Trade Lever to someone else. That will help our forwards function.

He had at least 5 goal assists to the Pies last night.

And he directing the ball out of D50 long and high down the line time and time again. For the same result, time and time again. He must have been trying to bring the rain back.

Stupid stupid method of play last night, that cost us the game.
Instead of switching the play quickly and short, across half back, or the 45* kick across to the corridor & on to the opposing wing/f-flank.

When we did this, getting into the corridor we looked dangerous. But you could count the times on one hand.
