Yeah but your fellow posters want a first rounder for him.

Ain't much use spending a first rounder on a player who services that need in the interim period before we're contending again.

Might as well go an option that doesn't require that much draft capital (eg. Zac Fisher), and keep the first rounders for elite youngsters who will be around when we're having a tilt.
Late 1st Rnd or 2nd Rnd.
You will be full of young kids, and over the hill hacks. They will need an organiser. A leader; who knows what it takes. He is about out 'best mind', in our back half; and I don't really want to lose him.
But trust me, I know what the young kids need, as they learn.

And your regulars will have forgotten what it takes to be a winner again... just as we were about 6 yrs back.

You'll need a captain in your back half, who is still at their top... and also in your forward half, same again.

Ain't much use spending a first rounder on a player who services that need in the interim period before we're contending again.
Totally worth it, to reconnect your kids that you already have, with winning ways and composure under pressure.

He would bring the on-field knowledge for this to apply, would be huge benefit for them as they mature.

We know what its like to have all kids and no maturity, OR winning ways.
We wasted 10 years in all that. Until Roosy took charge and set things up right.

You can have him for a late second or third haha. No way he'd be worth anything near a first-rounder value-wise.

But anyway, wouldn't make much sense for North at his age + salary.

Lol we'd be struggling to meet the minimum TPP spend. The salary ain't the issue.

I would 100% take him for a third rounder as a bridging solution.

We cannot afford Lynch, and he's near the end of his game.

We need the next rung of kids coming thru.

Allowing say 2.5Yrs left in the tanks, of Gawn & May, and Viney 30 next season, we have to build from the U19's.
Lynch is only 30 and a gun. A proven KPF. I’d be entertaining the prospect of him wearing the red and blue.

Just keeps on performing every week as his Dragons team progress deeper into the Talent League finals series. This week he struggled a little more than usual to find space at stoppage, but he still impacted the game positively as he always does.

Dixon is cooked, he can barely hold his body together. I can't deny the nature in which he plays contributes to that, but he gets out on the park less than Lynch

I'd take Dixon for free for a year if we have nothing to spend the Grundy money on, but jeez he's held together by string atm.

Hopefully we can still hold out for the best possible trade.

I actually don’t think there’s much in it for us to get rid of him this year to be honest. I’d happily keep on the list for the next 12 months from a purely list management perspective.
Swans have 22,31 and 40. They'll offer 40, well ask for 22 and get 31 in the end. I'm more than ok with that

If it wasn’t for all the outside narrative I’d rather keep him for next year than get 31.

I know that won’t happen though and I think you’re right.

To be honest I’m not even sure 22 would be the best outcome given where our list is at and the other picks we have this year.

Hopefully whatever we get we can package up and move up the order.

We can't keep him. He plays another year in the reserves and looks slow and old we'll be stuck with him for the rest of the deal. It's frankly amazing someone still wants him

The media want us to trade Grundy and get unders. That’s the narrative they are pushing.

Just look at that random comment about us rubbing salt into the wound, not sure how that’s factual or anything other than Sam’s opinion.
